Midnight releases are a 'petty problem'? How are they a problem at all? It's like a gaming social gathering, everyone together for the same purpose, what could possibly be wrong with that? If you don't like them, go later in the day 8)

Not sure how releasing something on a Sunday is supposed to prevent midnight releases either, considering several stores still do them, regardless of the day.

This is completely OT, but why'd the 'will 3ds be your main console' thread get locked? No one was getting system warsy, people can have a calm discussion that includes other consoles without our hands being held. Lock happy mods.

Yeah, no idea what that dude was talking about, he said he was in the UK so I thought he must be confused about NA or something... but Nintendo's last three consoles (N64, GC, Wii) have all been released on Sundays, and I know for sure GC and Wii had midnight releases, considering I was lined up for both.

Yes it has happened before.. I can't remember which game it was (I think phoenix wright) but i had preordered/reserved it and when I went to pick it up was told they were out of copies. I made them call other gamestops to find me a copy since I had already paid for it. Not sure if they lied about not getting enough copies in or if some dumb employee sold my copy to someone and just told me a lie to cover his own butt. But yes it does happen.

I've preorded my 3DS from Target, so I will get it later on that day...like maybe around launch time or something like that.

There is only one in my city that is doing it, but it is all the way across town. The one I pre-ordered at that is 30 seconds down the street isn't doing it so I guess I will have to wait until opening hours.

SSFIV... if I thought the 3DS would be available in July I'd just wait for RE Mercanaries. None of the launch titles are must-haves IMO, but I like Street Fighter so that'll be my game to tide me over till RE

I agree although I am still not sure what I want to get for a launch game. They don't all look like the best, but I wanna take advantage of the 3D with a game. If it came out in June, my first game would have been OOT, just so excited for that game. But for now I might get the same as you, or maybe even the Sims, PES, Madden, Steel Diver, or Nintendogs. Still not exactly sure.

Plus, i suck at fighting games, not sure if SSFIV is for me, even though I do like the series. :P

No, I'll probably wait a couple months, maybe half a year, until I have enough money.

I'm not great at them either. I have been playing Street Figher games since SF2 was originally an arcade game though, and I only rented SF4 (not Super), so this will still be a 'fresh' game for me. Well there you go. But I agree, Pilotwings is great and the 3DS version does seem very short. I also like how SSFIV takes advantage of everything the 3DS has to offer. While I suck at online games versus other people, I would enjoy that very much. Otherwise I might go with a different launch title, still not sure though. Just wish OOT was a launch title
