I know I am. Just got it early this week and it's exceeded my expectations. I feel more immersed in the games than I did on the original system's tiny screen, I don't get hand cramps anymore, and the system isn't as heavy as I thought it would be. It's also still quite portable imo. Less glare and the system doesn't acquire as many sticky fingerprints.

I've heard some people say that the red one looked childish, I guess because the color seemed so bright, but in person the color is much more subtle. This is easily my favorite handheld ever. What do you guys think about it?

I think they do. You do notice the graphics a bit more because they've been enlarged, and with that you see the jaggies a little better. It's not a notable difference though, and the increased viewing size easily outweighs the negatives.

I've seen people complain about the DS games being fuzzy, but imo it's barely noticable at all.

I'm still kind of mixed on it. I love the larger screen, but being able to see individual pixels so well interferes with the magic of the 3D

I refuse to buy one until there's more colors. I'll take a solid white.

Think GameBoy player. Still looks amazing but you can tell it's blown up.

ummm at first i was a little let down because i wanted it to be as sharp as the small screen but only bigger...

but after a few hours i decoded the bigger screen makes a lot of the games better... OOT is amazing with the big screen and the 3d in that made a bigger impression on me than when i played on the regular 3ds...

took me a while to realize you have to be farther away from the screen to be in the sweet spot compared to the regular edition...

i have to say the comfort is amazing as well...dpad is usable now and l and r shoulder button are much easier to press. and i can play sitting down a lot longer without my back getting tired.

Just curious, is there any wobble with the hinges with the XL?

Mine doesn't have any but I have read that some people do have it. It seems to be a lot less common now though. Anyway, yeah the games look fantastic. Gameboy games looked real good even if they're really blown up. I was also amazed by how Mutant Mudds looked on it with the 3D effect on.

DS games look much better on the the XL than 3DS, same with GBA games. I traded up my original 3DS for an XL, so I;m speaking from experience. Also, yes, I'm liking the XL.

i also traded up and love it so much more. on certain games you will notice the graphics but its not that big of a deal, and the 3d and sweet spot is made so much better! and it just feels awesome in my hands not like the mushy 3ds this one has firm clicks from the buttons and the added battery life is a god send

I also traded up and immediately as I was transferring the data in store, fell in love with the xl. Only regret at the time, was I should've gotten the blue one, but I'm over it now. The games look amazing on the bigger screen, and the 3d is better.

Yes, it's definitely a trade off. Overall, I think I like my XL better but the screen resolution is a bummer.

The GBA games look pretty amazing if you ask me, esp. Yoshi's Island. I find the d-pad a lot more comfortable too so it's great for all the Ambasador and other VC games that don't play as nice w/ an analog stick. Overall, I'm completely pleased. The graphics are much more striking on a larger screen it's more comfortable in general.

I also don't find the portability is diminished on iota in any practical sense. It is a pretty narrow subset of pockets that fit one but not the other.

If it has stuck pixels, i think Nintendo might fix it for free. But you should ask them.

you obviously haven't played an XL. LIterally the only flaw with it is its battery life. Seeing as it last the longest battery life out the three current gen handhelds, (3DSXL, 3DS, and Vita) I can't complain.

I just go my blue 3DS XL , got a pretty awesome deal on graiglist , 150$ only!!! sealed brand new !!

the only sad part is that I found a tiny stuck pixel on the left most part of the top screen , not visible during gameplay

but I can definitely see it on a white background

I won't return it because its on the left part of the screen , most of the action occurs on the center of the screen so I don't really notice it when I play games

I will learn to live with it and forget that its there

Super Mario 3D land and Mario Kart 7 looks awesome on the XL !!! wow way better then the original 3ds

you know i was someone who was against the DSi xl and i was against the 3ds xl when it was annouced. but after seeing a couple of videos of it on youtube i decided to give up my launch aqua and get a blue 3ds xl. and i love it. the matte finish keeps my clammy hands dry lol.

i don't know why nintendo didn't give the 3ds a matte finish like this. and the design is much sleeker as well. and the graphics are not as pixelated as the ds xl graphics were. im definitely happy with my purchase.

and i find it portable. it fits perfectly into my purse. although some of you dudes may have trouble fitting this in your pockets.

I love my red XL. It enhances the 3d and makes it a far better gaming experience. On the old 3ds I would switch it off for high action areas because if the 3ds turns to the right or left the screen becomes blurred. It really is a huge step up, I wouldn't use my old 3ds if you paid me. People whining about potentional miniscule fidelity loss because of bigger pixels don't own one. It won't bother you at all and is only noticable if you are doing a side by side comparison with a magnifying glass. The huge screen make it 100x better, I would recommend it to anyone that has a 3ds and tell anyone that doesn't it's a no brainer..

Very satisified, have a blue XL with SM 3D Land, MK 7, NSMB 2 and Resi Evil: Revelations. I've never used an old 3DS to compare with but the graphics are great, jaggies are minimal (certainly less than reviews led me to believe there would be), battery life is great, it's comfortable to hold and the lack of 2nd analog stick has never felt like a hindrance. As for "lack of portability" I don't think I've ever carried a handheld around in my pocket so it's a non-issue. I'm not massively impressed with Nintendo's EU E-Store, the other company's other handheld does downloadable games/content so much better than Nintendo but otherwise a brilliant handheld.

You folks who are talking about GBA games: Are those downloads, or is there a GBA slot ala a DS Lite on the XL? A GBA slot would push me over the edge again, as it did on the Lite...

... Thanks!

Sorry for the late response, GS forums were down for us firefox users yesterday until the magic adblock code appeared.

Anyways, nope, 3DS doesn't have a GBA slot like DS, and afaik the digital GBA games are only for 3DS ambassadors (those that bought the original 3DS @ the original price). I'm hoping Nintendo will start adding GBA games on the eshop for everyone soon.

Ah. Thank you. I would still like an XL, but since there's no slot there's no hurry. About the only thing I really want to play is the RE game...
