How is it outdated? It has no competitive right now!

tbh the 3DS hardware is fairly outdated compared to the most recent phones out right now
You mean fragmented OSs like Android where the top of the line games don't run on over half the available phones? You mean how the apps and games don't really have the full 512MB-1GB RAM to actually use as those are reserved for other functions?
Name to me a top of the line smartphone with its price ($150 to $300) with its overall 2 year cost ($100 a month for 24 months) and you aren't buying those phones for gaming.
There aren't many games that look as good as Resident Evil Revelations on smartphones, and those that do don't run well on older, or even some recently released smartphones.
Phone gets replaced every six months, and its impossible from a financial stand point to keep up. A 3DS is made to be profitable and run all 3DS games for the next 3-5 years. If you made a smartphone that would run the top of the line Android/iOS games in 2015 it would cost so far above $1000 it wouldn't be reasonable.
The 3DS has a multi-core 800Mhz CPU, a very good GPU (around 200Mhz) and 128MB RAM. I wouldn't call that outdated as the only other gaming handheld coming out soon that will compete directly with it isn't as much more powerful than the 3DS as the PSP was to the DS.
It's not outdated because its the current Nintendo handheld, and will be for the next few years. Stop comparing it to subsidized phones with huge contracts. They aren't the same thing.
Whether u like it or not the the 3DS IS using outdated tech. That doesn't make it a bad system by any means. Old hardware didn't stop the DS from being a good system so no need to get defensive. Also the CPU & GPU clock is not known so on't go around throwing numbers without being sure of what u type. Android fragmentation isn't as big as problem as people think it is, and the memory limit for apps is very easy to get around. That whole fragmentation junk is just as applicable on PC's yet that doesn't stop PC's from having superior looking games. Also, "only other gaming handheld coming out soon that will compete directly with it isn't as much more powerful than the 3DS" ....can't believe u actually think that. take the goggles off dude.
Phones are stronger than 3DS, end of story
