After I saw the 3DS, i decided to slow down on buying DS games and just use that money for 3DS games.
I'm only buying 2 more DS games and im done. The two games are Pokemon Black and Super Scribblenauts.
what about you?

I've stopped buying DS game recently as well, but only because there haven't been too many exciting releases lately.
There are a few that i'm interested in as of now:
Dragon Quest IX (I'm actually gonna pick this up in a few days)
Pokemon Black/White (Duh! :P)
Golden Sun Dark Dawn (I didn't play the original but this one does look good so I might give it a shot)
Okamiden (I loved the original Okami so i'll see how this turns out)
Aside from these and maybe a few old titles that get price drops, i'll mostly be waiting for 3DS. :D
I am more or less caught up but I'll still have about one game a month to buy for the rest of this year (assuming release dates don't change).
Ivy the Kiwi- Aug (is a maybe)
Professor Layton and the Unwound Future- Sept
Super Scribblenauts- Oct
Ghost Trick- Nov
Golden Sun- Dec ???
I will most likely buy Okamiden and Pokemon Black/White as well whenever they release. I might replace Ivy the Kiwi with WarioWare D.I.Y. but I was hoping to find it at a cheaper price...
Yes. In fact just bought DQ9 last week. As someone else said I see no reason (other than no good games or don't have the money) to stop buying DS games right now. Also depending on how much Ninty charges for the 3DS will determine when I will be able to get it. If they slap the supposed $250 price tag then I won't be getting it for a while.
3DS won't make good DS games any less good.

And it won't make 3DS games any better. ilu.
Yeah, I just bought Trauma Center: Under the Knife and plan on picking up Okamiden and probably some others... The 3DS is something my parents will have to worry about for Christmas or my birthday, depending on the price, if I actually want it.
after picking up similar sentiment of this kind from fellow ds users, i get the feeling that a lot of people are just assuming that the release of the 3DS will open the floodgates for all the tantalizing titles that have been announced thus far.
it wouldn't surprise me in the least bit if all of the anticipated titles will follow the old formula and trickle out in an extremely stretched out time frame, one good title per month surrounded by shovelware galore with the occasional month that sees 2 or 3 good titles.
which brings me to say that the impending release of the 3DS shouldn't deter people from buying current model DS games, as there are many many really good games available.
i'm beginning to wonder how Nintendo's lack of quality control on the publishing front is going to affect the 3DS software market. in my opinion, the nintendo ds market completely redefined the term "shovelware". it wasn't so bad in the beginning, but nowadays we're seeing something like 10 junk for every 1 good game made.
just my own opinion.
HeartGold was the last DS game I've bought and I'm waiting for Black/White.
I will probably get Okamiden if it's not too close to the 3DS/Pokemon/Zelda:SS release date. My wallet is gonna suffer in 2011. >w>
Truth. I have like 8 more DS games I am planning on getting atm. I would like to get a 3DS someday, as my icon plainly shows, but it's not really in the cards at the moment. It's more of a long-term objective than anything.3DS won't make good DS games any less good.

Should it really effect you that there are so many shovelware games though? I mean, if you know what the good games are, just get them, and don't worry about what other junk is on your system.Should it really effect you that there are so many shovelware games though? it really bothered me, moreso than probably 99% of other DS users, because I've been collecting DS games for nearly 5 years now. at first it was really easy for me to keep up with the steady flow of releases, but the shovelware mania that infected the DS market made it impossible for me to try to stay at maintaining a complete DS library, so i gave up.
i always thought it'd be interesting to see if there was any rich bloke in this world that would be willing to shell out all that money to have a complete DS collection, and to see what it'd look like. how nightmarish it'd be, with all those Imagine games, My _____ Coach games, more brain training games than your brain could ever handle, and the like.

I agree with your opinion, though I hope it turns out to be wrong.
I know what you mean about the rediculous shovelware. When I go to a store to see what's available, I'm greeted with two enourmous walls of nothing but junk, with a few good titles sprinkled throughout.
Yes, still buying them, and I've got a huge list of games I still want.
Most Recent Purchase: Dragon Quest IX
Yes, there are still a lot of great games that I wasn't able to buy before. Then I have to get Luminous Arc 3, Rune Factory 3, and Etrian Odyssey 3.
