This thread is my way of finding out how many actual australians are posting on these forums. i also wanna know what games australians are buying beause everywhere i go, the game shelves are pretty empty.

so here it is, if your australian.. tell me,

  • where abouts you are in australia?
  • how long have you had your wii?
  • what games do you have?
  • have you connected your wii online? seeing as they dont sell wi-fi adapters in stores
  • whats your favorite game?
  • what game are you planning on getting next?
  • HAVE YOU HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH YOUR WII?
  • and lastly where the hell do you find out release dates for games are?

HEY IF WE GET ENOUGH PEOPLE IN HERE, WE CAN START A UNION, AND OUR OWN ONLINE TOURNAMENTS.

p.s sorry for the long post, but i wanna get a good response and make this thread last. you dont have to answer ALL the questions, but give it a go.

Yeah, Aussie right here. I live in Melbourne, I've had the Wii since Christmas (because my sis wanted it), I have Excite Truck, Mario Football andWii sports/play. I have a router so I go online, and strikers is great fun over the net. I'm posting a topic tonight (aussie time) for yanks or poms to verse us online in Strikers, so look forward to that.Strikers is probably my favorite game on Wii, but Red Steel is also solid. I'm thinking about getting Scarface on Wii, but reviews are mixed soGeometry Wars or Mario Galaxy are probably my next must-have Wii games, as long as they arrive this year in Oz (Galaxy is coming to Ozthis year). www.aussie-nintendo.com is probably your best source for Aussie wii news including release dates. If you also live around Melbourne - go to GameMania - they do private shipping, have a greatWii rental selectionand hope to get Brawl (U.S version) here by the end of the year.

well hey, in replying to you, ill answer my own questions ahhah.

i live in sydney south west

i got my wii in febuary or march i think, it was after i won a poker tournament and had alot of extra money, so bought one, if it wasnt for that, i probably never woulda thought of getting one, now im into it too much ahhaha so much to say i think i might have been better off without it ahaha nah.

i have a decent collection, check my profile, games include RE4, mario striker, mario party, mortal kombat, red steel, madden 07

i have my wii online, i drove for like 1.5hours to some warehouse which stocked them and only sold online stuff...

i bought mario strikers for $68 from JB hi-fi and its my best buy yet. i play online a fair bit

planning on getting brawl, galaxy mp3 of course, and probably fifa08 madden08 and nba 08 BWii and maybe some other decent online games if any come out

no problems with the wii, except the gay remotes, every time i have people over i have to resync all of them, or reconnect them all.... its a bit of a hassel, and the nintendo wi-fi connecter keeps doing some popup thing on m computer saying its online, i dont care but, as long as online is smooth i dont mind it.

my source of release games is actually stopping by shops, or here on gamespot, im kinda new into games, i was into them ages ago so i dont have any reliable sourses, but THANKS FOR THE SITE!

optusnet wanna have a match online? pm me with your strikers code

There are more Aussies than you think..

I'm on the Central Coast..
Got my Wii 2 days after Launch, cause it was the day I got home from my Schoolies Cruise.. (Had it on Pre-order...)
Alas, I only have WiiSports/Play, TP & RS.. Though I'm waiting on at least 6 or maybe even 7 games to be released within the next year..
Haven't got a favourite..
My next game(s) shall be Corruption..
Yes, a few weeks after I got my Wii the Remotes stopped working completely, rang up Customer Service to no avail.. Took it back and a few days later got another one which wasn't even meant for me.. (This was during the mass shortage, where the next shipment wouldn't have been for months.. Good thing somebody didn't take up their Pre-order...)

-since may

-wii play, wii sports, smooth moves, zelda

-yes (via wireless router)

-smooth moves, so far

-mario strikers, no more heroes, fifa 08 (if it's any good), rockstar games presents table tennis...

plus a bunch of gamecube games i need to catch up on

-nope (except it takes a really long time to get into shop)

-they've already been posted.

by the way, does anybody know any good game stores around melbourne? i'm desperately looking for a gamecube controller and a decent stock of gamecube games.

whats dungeon crawl? you dont have access to a credit card? what about a friend or your parents, just give em $45 and borrow their credit card. tell em its a one off thing... i dont THINK you can buy the wii points cards yet, and if so, probably at EB games

HAS ANYONE BEEN TO THE SHOP "GAME" used to be games wizards? how much of a rip off is their merch! omg!

It's a store in the city, and they also have a shop on ebay. Their prices are a bit hefty (online, never been to the actual store). No way a gamecube game should cost $70+.

About Wii Points, I could've sworn that I saw some on sale at Toys 'R' Us at Highpoint. Did nobody else see this? They also sell Wii Play with Remote for $65, and just the Remote for $70. Odd.

About the credit card thing, my parents are technophobes and if I asked, they would just tell me that they wouldn't want to get their money stolen, or something.

  • how long have you had your wii? Since launch.
  • what games do you have? NFS Carbon, Red Steel, Rayman, Mario Strikers, RE4, SSX Blur, Wii Sports, Wii Play and traded in Zelda after I beat it. Also have around 15 VC games.
  • have you connected your wii online? Yes, my router does the job just fine.
  • whats your favorite game? RE4.
  • what game are you planning on getting next? The Big 3, BWii, Fifa if it's any good, probably Paper Mario and anything good that takes my fancy shortly after pay day...
  • HAVE YOU HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH YOUR WII? Occasionally have some issues getting online, but that's due to interference from my wireless surround speakers rather than a problem with the Wii.
  • and lastly where the hell do you find out release dates for games are? Various sources around the net.

Bozon and Matt always crack me up. I'm always laughing when they speak in that sleasy Mexican voice when they imitate their own IGNmembers who bag them.Matt's great on those Wii Playground vids - Matt: "Nintendowanted us toenjoy Mario Party 8 with this pizza they boughtus,(aftertheir paulty review of it)........so,what we've decided is that we'llscrap Mario Party, but eat the pizza." And then all the IGN staff crowd around and eat pizza.

g'day mate, im also aussie

i live in Adelaide,

i got my wii on realse date [austrailan release that is]

i have: warioware, super monkeyball, red steel, zelda, wii play, strikers charged, RE:4... i think thats it

HEY IF WE GET ENOUGH PEOPLE IN HERE, WE CAN START A UNION, AND OUR OWN ONLINE TOURNAMENTS.

p.s sorry for the long post, but i wanna get a good response and make this thread last. you dont have to answer ALL the questions, but give it a go.

hfm_brian

Melbourne, Vic

Wii Sports, Zelda TP, Wii Play, Mario Strikers, SSX Blur

Yes I have got and play my Wii and NDS online. And yes they DO SELL NINTENDO WIFI ADAPTERS IN STORES MY GOD. I purchased mine from Myer for 34.99$ on sale, and I've seen them in Target.

Next game purchase for me is probably going to be Super Paper Mario

Any problems with my Wii? No, but I do have problems connecting my Wii to Wi-fi using the adapter, even though it never occurs with the NDS

I find out my release dates from either nintendo.com.au or Aussie-Nintendo.com

P.S. W00tage, Collingwood won! In your face swans

Ta

EDIT: And yes, I got my Wii on Launch Day :) :D Go me.

I live on the Central Coast and I've had my Wii since January '07. I own around 60 Wii titles with my favourite being Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I don't have a "next" game to get until there's a good one I care about.

I use an unencrypted wireless connection at my house and don't recall ever having a problem with my Wii.

I use GameSpot and IGN for release date news generally.
