Ok, wii fit isnt going to be raking in the 9's and 9.5's, but i do think that the balance board can be used to create games that really add to the experience.

Three Examples:

Snowboarding, Skiiing - This one is too obvious. Tilt it horizontaly for skiing, tilt it vertically for snowboarding. This one would be easy to make and people would definetly buy. Actually, there is a game being made for this called, "Family Ski' but I'm not sure if its coming out in the U.S...

Driving - Wii driving games so far have been both exciting and terrible (Cruis'n). The balance board can be used for the two pedals: Brake and Gas (accelorate). Meanwhile, tilting the wii remote is for steering.

Drumming (Possibly Wii Music?) - For those who have played Rock Band.. or who are actually in a band, you would know that drummers have food pedestal that is tapped in order to make a beat. The wii balance board would take that purpose, while two wii remotes would be used to hit drums.

These are only my ideas. Drumming seams a little surreal, but it could be implemented into a game.

thoughts?

WAY before third party devs start properly applying peripherals they need to focus on making nintendo quality games. Wii has some gems this year but few and far between because Nintendo is basically the only people who do it right.

Listen to IGN Matt and Bozon's latest Wiik in review. Bozon explicitelytalks about how if game developers pushed their games on every front from proper devlelopment time to proper polishing to ADVERTISING then we would see the same results as 360 games. Wii has a big fanbase but publishers are so difficult and STUPID with their thoughts of Wii and its games. Their heads are so far up their own A## they dont know the difference between simplicity and crap.

Drumming = Real drumsticks please. I haven't played rock band, but im sure they used real drumsticks... I mean its possible with wii motes but seriously it wouldnt even be a smidge near to being like the real thing.

i'd suppose it could be used in RPG games like final fantasy, to involve the player much more, by walking, dodging etc. nintendo have made a pressure sensor, i think it wouldnt be too long before they make a thinner version and make it a much larger mat, and have a headset to be really into the game (think star wars with wii remote, being able to walk around, dodge), but probably wont see that happening for the next decade. this could bring nintendo really far into gaming with player being involved more, while microsoft and sony primarily focus on realism, and better graphics and gameplay. it looks like a pretty bright future ahead for nintendo :)

it could also be used in tony hawk games, surfing games if there is any,etc

ive heard some sporting brands are developing games for it so we could be seeing games from big brands like puma, adidas, nike, but who knows what they'll come up with

I don't think the balance board is exactly intended to be used in other games. I might be but I think wii fit and what ever else nintendo brews up will be the only thing the balance board sees.

using the wii balance board as the pedals is a good idea. As in the right is for acceleration and the left for braking, and the harder you press down the faster you go. Plus you would also use the wii wheel to turn aswell. That would be sick if done right.

Wow I really love your idea of the balance board being gas and brake pedals for racing games. I never thought about it. That would be specatcular.
