I loved Battalion Wars Wii minus the fact it had no communication in battle mode. I would love to see one for the WiiU. I can see having on screen and audio communications and having the screen on the controller being a map where you can come up with your battle plan and command troops so the main screen can be left for the soldier you control and the interface you need.

What would you all think and what would you like if it happened?

***If you don't like Battalion Wars and/ or have never played it, please don't leave comments saying such. I would just like fans of the game to brainstorm on ideas for a new WiiU game. Thanks***

I loved both Battalion Wars games, especially BWii, but the only problem I always had was organizing my troops effectively to counter my enemy troops. Things were always way too hectic and most of the time I ended up just keeping everything in one giant blob because it was too hard to quickly and efficiently micro-manage every battalion.

If the WiiU controller can help fix this (I think a touch screen would be better than the previous options) then I'm sold. I never did get into the online for it that much though. It was always empty and I ended up playing (read, beating :P) the same people over and over again so it got pretty boring.

Sure I mean the fundements of Battalion Wars are pretty great. It's a tiny bit like Battlezone or that new Toybox game, and different still. And the Wii U controller would fit perfectly. You can have the map displayed on your Wii U controller and select/direct units on the map by using that touch screen.
It would make most frustrations from previous Battalion Wars games disappear.

What it needs though is proper online modes. I mean this is a kind of game concept that would work very well online cooperatively and competitively.

I'm not sure whether past Battalion Wars games have been succesful enough to allow for another attempt. If they could put an ace team on a Wii U Battalion Wars, I'm telling you as someone who has been gaming longer than most developer employers, that thing would sell bucketloads. If only they would not hold back as I felt they did on the Wii, on features and making it control smoothly, and have a smooth framerate and online play. It has to be the whole package, but then it would be absolutely brilliant and have no competition for years to come.

I would say the same for a Dungeon Keeper wii u game. It would fit and it wouldn't have any competition. The only thing wrong with it, is that it's not happening. And that really sucks. That would be a million selling Wii U hit that wouldn't be hard to make. It frustrates me so much I would almost do it myself.

Lack of voice chat in the co-op mode and overall lack of online content is what ultimately killed the last one for me. If they fix those problems, I'd love to see BW on the WiiU.

I agree I think the Wii U controller can fix that.

I alway had my troops with me everywhere I went I could manage them effectively.

Ok, holy then all. You prove my point. I wanted constructive ideas for a game not some one coming in here missquoting me or telling me how to post something. 5 intelligent people figured that out from what I said. This thread is to discussion what we would like to see in a WiiU Battalion Wars game, not to say that series sucks don't make it. Its to discuss what works/ didn't work on the last ones and how anyone else would aprove it.

whoa man, chill. all i'm saying is that you can't get a better game without listening to both sides. negative, but constructive criticism is just as important, if not more important, than praise.

make it into a map style (Starcraft type)..they have enough factions to do it...Would be cool with the Wii Ultra controller. :)

I definitely loved the last two Battalion Wars. The only problems I really had was I wished they included a Co-Op mode for the story missions or redesign its multiplayer mode in general. Add split screen please....

I also would mistakenly send out the wrong troops to certain locations in the heat of battle. It was a bit difficult managing everything on the battlefield. Hopefully, the WiiU controller can make it more easier to manage everything....

It was games like this that I wished Nintendo tried out connectivity with the DS like they would with the GC and GBA. DS could have became a map, showing all available enemy troops. Sort of like a PDA. It could have also been a way to manage your troops using the touch screen I would think. Selecting a few troops to run to certain locations on the maps. Perhaps there can be some sort of connectivity with 3DS and WiiU. At least, that's what I'm hoping....

I definitely agree with co-op. Being able to divide up all the troops with one player getting all the infantry and a tank or two and the other player getting the artillery or airships would not only ease up some of the micro management but make missions just a lot better and intense by having to work together and save each other from certain counters.

They could easily add a mode where you take control of a small group of standard infantry and just go to war against another small group too. It'd be a bit too similar to a standard TPS, but it would only be one mode.

Well, they did have online Co-Op configured that way in BWii. Just not any missions from the story...

Yeah, but I didn't have anyone to play it with, and it wouldn't work really well without voice chat.

I agree with peoples. I really like Batalion Wars, and it would work great with a touch screen controller! I also agree that it needs better online/voice chat/competitve modes in general. I'd like all Ninty franchises on WiiU to polish up those areas to be honest :)

You could have just played anyone using the regional search... But yeah, that why I wish they had split-screen multiplayer...:P

I love the series and personally cannot wait for another one to come out in general. For BWIII I want a longer and more robust campaign and two new factions! Multiplayer to be bigger and better then ever with new game modes like 2v2 skirmishs, maybe even a create your own faction option for multiplayer that would be awesome. they should also add in more things to make it like a rts so that people can build and create building and units that they want, but this feature should probably be just in multiplayer. Another amazing feature would be the ability to make your own squads. For example I have riflemen, bazookas, two light tanks, and a heavy tank. If I wanted to split those up into groups and do a command & conquer play style I could.

Not unless they evolve the gameplay. It was overly simplistic and easy, and has UI issues. Giving the player the exact number of troops they need to win, and then marching them through a straight path of enemies isn't strategy.

From what I read, Headstrong (creators of BW series) have an unannounced project for WiiU. I hope It's BW3. It's a great game but it doesn't come without flaws. I'd like to see a couple things fix and a lot of content added in for the next. 1- Tank shells I think are too slow. So slow, a charged up bazooka vet shot is faster. maybe add a slightly higher hit radius. I found it a little hard to hit moving units unless it's a direct attack or VERY near them without lock on. 2- They shouldn't span the enemy units through out the missions. This is war, so we should expect to lose units every confrontation. the enemy should have small battalions of their own. Making it more challenging and emphasizing on strategy while keeping full charges to a second thought. 3- Formations would be a nice editions. or at least, be able to decide which unit can be right behind you. maybe it'll help keep those fiesty grunts from running into their deaths. should also bring back the option where you can direct units to go like in BW. 4- BattleStations were great in BWii but felt like overpowered artillery. If they had faster shells and straight shots, they would feel more like a MegaTank. It helps hinder them besides there lack of anti-air abilities. giving players a chance to take down one if well equipped. 5- The weight of vehicles where horrible in BW (Missle vet vs Heavy tank......yea) but BWii took it out almost completely. They should defintely find a balance of the wieght mechanic to give the players a feel for the moving units. 6- For online, it would be awesome if they gave you the option to choose your favorite army on ANY Co-Op, Skirmish, or Assault missions. For Co-Op, choose if you want to be the specific units that they'll tell you or the other. Like if you want to be Air support with the Western Frontier and the other ground assault with the Anglo Isle or vice versa. Skirmish is Skirmish so there's nothing to select beside army. Then Assault you can choose attacker or defender. 7- Give EVERY army the opportunity to use ALL the units. Also include the missing ones like the Anglo Isle gunship or Solar Empire Strato Destroyer.

I was very interested in the first one but still haven't got hold of it. BWii was great, I still play it a lot and I really hope Kuju, or whoever Nintendo designs, is hard at work making a new one! As the Wiimote was a perfect suit for 1st/3rd person shooters but was not properly used by most of the developers, I just hope the perfect match of RTS games and the gamepad gets misused this generation :S

I don't think this is the case. In BWii there several secondary objectives that would make for different paths. You also can change your strategy using brute force or a more skilled play. I dare to say you can win with your last soldier if the mission or your skill allows, as well as to not lose a single unit. I strongly believe you can improve the gameplay using the gamepad, but I see no major fault in the UI for BWii. As I said, I still play it from time to time and is fairly easy to be right at home with the controls
