I saw this Wii Charge Station on Amazon and became curious as to which is more efficient for money, being as I'm not so familiar with the average cost of a battery charger. Which is likely to be better for my wallet in the long run?

i dunno.  i bought a battery charger from radio shack the second week i had my wii.  i ended up buying 8 batteries and the one 4 battery charger.  i think i'm down 40 bucks or so.

i'm not sure how that compares with the charger.  but i figure that i can also use the battery charger for things other then the wii.

Best bang for the buck is a set of 4AA's (2500 Energizer) batteries and a charger for 28 dollars

The third party chargers don't last as long per charge or over the lifetime of the product.

The wiimote chargers looked iffy. I just use a normal battery charger and switch out my controller for two sets of batteries. While the other one is down, I charge that one up and use the one set that is charged up in my wiimote.

Of course, the wiimote charge station would seem like a good idea for people who have more than one controller...I'm broke! :)

I got a super good deal on batteries when I first got my Wii. I'm now running very low on supply. I have three wiimotes but more often than not I'm flyin' solo. I've researched the 3rd party chargers and can't find one that I'm ultimately happy with. The battery charger set-up is frowned upon by Nintendo and I don't have anything else really that needs batteries. I DO however see that I could easily stockpile some rechargables (a pack of 10 or whatever) and as they die switch them out, charge them up overnight, then put them back into the flock of standbys.

I'm thinking this will be my best option for a few reasons. 1. The initial investment of the charger and batteries falls well short of buying several of the 3rd party chargers. 2. I can always have batteries ready with a little planning so that I don't run out unexpectedly or have to make a special trip to get batteries. 3. If future peripherals require batteries (or if I decide to get a wireless sensor bar for some reason) I'll be able to easily factor those parts into the AA recharging assembly line.

As long as the Balance Board runs on AA's or is hardwired, I'll have everything I need to keep it up and running.

I think I just convinced myself! It's a shame that there isn't a more solid option available though. I was hoping my mass of batteries would last until a good alternative popped up. On the bright side...I won't have to feel guilty about turning the sound on the Wiimotes on. Man, those little speakers do a number on a AA.

Go for the charger, that way you get two in one -

- For your normal batteries.

- For you Wii's batteries.

There both the same but getting the charger allows you to charge your other batteries for other needs aswell.

I vote for a battery charger too... you can then use recharageble batteries for other things like the Wii Fit Board

make sure if you get a charger you opt for the 15 min charger... some of the cheaper ones take like 8 hours to charge the batteries
