I recently recieved a DS Lite and have been playing it and enjoying it of course. Problem is the battery seems to be depleting much to quickly.

The screens are set on the 2nd lowest brightness level, I play in a warm area and the game action isn't too severe that it affects the battery too much.

All this and my battery only lasts about 8 hours.

Anyone know what I should do?

Did you let it charge completely the first time?

Yes, i did. Trust me, I've taken all the neccesary precautions to ensure the longest battery life possible but it's still dying much too quickly.

How old is your DS? Do you constantly place games in standby or do you save your progress and shut the DS off? Have you tried another battery to see how it charges and discharges? How do you charge your DS?

When you first got it did you kill the battery because that is what is recommended for rechargeable batteries like the ds.

If you really still are having trouble check out a radioshack they sell ds batteries and, at least for my regular ds I got a thing that goes over the original battery cover and adds another battery to the ds doubling the battery life.

note:buying additions like this for the ds is supposed to void the warranty so make sure that it is already void or that you really don't need it.
