Hi, I got a wii for Christmas and somehow my remote is already running low on battery. I found out during a game when a symbol representing low battery popped up on the screen. I read somewhere in the wii manual that you need proffessional help to change the batteries since the batteries are supposed to be a more dangerous kind. Does everyone else have to do this? If so, who should I call to get the batteries replaced.
No. The Wiimote uses AA batteries. I suggest you get rechargeable batteries or Nyko's Wiimote charger as you'll go through lots of batteries if play your Wii a lot. A pair of AA won't last me a week if I played a lot.
I use Duracell Rechargables (4 of them for my 2 Wiimotes). Both are pretty sturdy, the Nyko charging station is alright but it replaces your back covering with a Nyko one :(
i applaud you being careful with your system... but i must admit i laughed when i read this and the first reply...
i use rechargeable batts... not a charge station. i have an extra set of batteries that are always ready to go (4 wiimotes x 2 AA's each... extra set... 16 batts total) that way... when i'm playing through one set and those run out i never have to wait for recharging... this is crucial if i'm having a bunch of friends over to play. the battery life is really good... but i'd never want to be stuck without extra batts
