Before I buy Pikmin 3, should i get 1 and 2?

Do they play similarly?

I don't think Pikmin 3 was announced yet but at least try the GameCube games. I played on Pikmin 1 and it was good. I skipped the second one. I heard that Pikmin 2 was better. IMO, Pikmin is very suited for the console.

definitely play both 1 and 2...they are great games

and if you have a friend...pikmin 2's 2 player mode is pretty fun

Pikmin 2 is a lot more complex then the first one, because you have 2 new pikmin and another character to deal with..

As for Miyamoto, he confirmed Pikmin hasn't died - no surprise - but it's no official announcement.

Anyway, I'm just asking you to be more careful and realist here. Assuming things that aren't fully announced, specially in such a big forum, usually leads to confusion and misinformation, and I've seen a lot of it since I joined GS Forums. Don't say Pikmin 3 has been announced, because it hasn't. Speculate all you want, but stick to the facts, you can even consider that Pikmin 3 will eventually come out is a fact, but you can't say it has been announced.

I think you are still missing the point... I don't really see how Brawl has anything to do with this.

EDIT: Also Pikmin is kinda like an RTS game. Its kinda hard to explain for me but you control the Pikmin to do different things. As to the TC, I say you should get Pikmin 2, you can probably find it used cheap.

1. Yes it is good and beautiful. Pikmin may come in 2008 and you can believe it all you want, if your speculation leads you to such conclusion. What you can't do, is to say it has been confirmed for 2008, or confirmed at all.

2. In case you didn't understand, I said that because that Pikmin cover was fake. Bringing me a fake cover as proof of a game existence (?!) and release in 2008 (?!?!) is as valid as if I brought a MGS4 Wii cover as proof it's coming for Wii. Anyone could do that.
