Don't even bother they suck so hard. I completely forgot about mario's missing so they tie for worst. Well it turns out Mario Time Machine is the sequel to Mario's Missing....

Yeah they both suck and deserve to be burned in a furnace outside of what used to be Natzi Germany.
Mario is Missing is the worst Mario game I have played. But if that didnt count, I would pick Super Mario Bros 2.
Super Mario Bros 3. Would have to be my favorite. It is probably my most played game since it was the first game I ever owned (along with Mario Bros/Duck Hunt) When I was 4-5 years old, and I used to play it all the time.

Best - Super Mario World Worst - New Super Mario Bros. By the way I've played EVERY Mario game, including "Lost Levels" and the GB ones, the only one I haven't played is SML2.

Because it was a spin-off title instead of an actual TRUE sequel. It's basically SMB2 *as some think*, they didn't feel like making a sequel so they just released an experiment. IMHO SMS just showed me how lazy Nintendo really was last gen. Instead of making the next Mario so good and so ahead of it's time to get attention, they just made it different. This is why the GC was last the previous gen because Nintendo was to lazy to created Nintendo quality *by that I mean games further ahead of their time then any other and are timeless classics*, the only "Nintendo" quality games published by Nintendo on that console weren't created by Nintendo *SSBM and Metriod Prime, NOTE that WW is debatable* Hell some of their franchises they just gave to third parties to work on because they didn't feel like working on them themselves *I'm looking at you Star Fox* But after playing Mario Kart DS and Twilight Princess, and seeing Super Mario Galaxy and others, my faith is starting to be restored.
If anyone thinks games like Sunshine and SMB2 are the worst, you havn't played the bad Mario games. Sunshine and SMB2 are amazing games. I honestly can't decide what my favourite is, SM64, NSMB, SMB3, SMW, and SMS are all tied for my favourite. Mario is Missing is definately the worst I have played, although I don't consider that to be a Mario game at all.

I have one more thing, the plot for Mario Is MIssing! Bowser has set up a castle in Antarctica, and plans to use many hair driers from the Hafta Havit mail-order company to melt the Antarctic ice and flood the Earth. Bowser has kidnapped Mario and locked him somewhere in his giant castle in Antarctica. So it's up to Luigi and Yoshi to find him. They search the entire world and defeat Koopas and return stolen goods. When this task is complete, you go one on one with Bowser and must defeat him yet another time to save Mario!

I actually enjoyed Mario is Missing despite it's incredibly ridiculous plot and game play. I doubt I'd enjoy it as much now though, as I am no longer a little kid screaming "OMG Mario game!" However, Mario's Time Machine was so bad not even the fact that it was a Mario game could make me pop it back into the SNES after ejecting it in disgust.
