Brain age is OK. It will last you a while and unless you keep trying to shave a second or so off your record time then you will run out of stuff to do. I would say, spent a few extra £ on a full game.

Brain Age is very fun. You may want to check out Age of Empires, that's a great game, and it's a little more in depth than Brain Age. Also, I'd recommend you look for some used games, cause you may strike a good deal.

If you aren't looking for a brain game, then I suggest Trace Memory if you are into strategy/adventure games. And like hammer_of_thor said, used games are definitely a great way to find good games that aren't budget crap. Because a DS cart can't be scratched or anything, so I doubt it'll have a defect or anything. If you can find it, I suggest Lost in Blue, although the sequel is coming out on March 27th. If you can afford the new one, find the old one used.

Go online and shop around. Many games supposedly that can only be bought used can be bought new if you look at the nongame stores such as Target. Budget priced as well. Lost Magic is hard but for a trial expierment at new game mechanics it is very deep. Plenty of budget ds games brand new.

I'm going to have to recommend Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords. Ignore the title, please. It is a budget title ($30) but I believe it will be a far better investment as far as gameplay time\quality goes. It is both a hardcore RPG (it kind of has to be coming from the most hardcore strategy/rpg game developer) and a puzzle game. Don't judge it by "Bejeweled" standards; rather look into its RPG aspects which are rather deep.

I've done a bit of research on the game, and probably know more about the game than anyone that isn't a beta tester\media person with a demo. Feel free to ask me any questions through a PM.

I'd suggest Age of Empires, it goes for about twenty bucks, and is a decent challenge.
