After I got the Wii, I bought Chibi-Robo (pretty underrated game, it's a lot funner than it was given credit for), Tales of Symphonia, and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. These are all good games, but must-haves are:

Smash Bros. Melee, Paper Mario:Thousand Year Door, Metroid 1+2, Super Monkey Ball, Resident Evil 4, Mario Party 7, Pikmin, F-Zero GX, Mario Kart:Double Dash, just to name a few from various genres...

Metroid Prime, Wind Waker, Super Mario Sunshine, Resident Evil 4, WWE: Day of Reckoning 1 and 2, Star Wars Rogue Leader II and III, I can go on if you want, but these are some of the must haves for GC.

Smash, Mario Sunshine, and Paper Mario are the three I'd most recommend.

SSBM, Mario Sunshine, Paper mario, Animal Crossing, depending on how you game Metroid Prime 1 and 2, and last but not least Super Monkey Ball 2.

re4 owns the gamecube, bar none, i remeber seeing it at e3 the year before and i was like wow that looks cool, so when it came out i instantly bought it, (the reviews werent out yet) a week later my friends like how did you know it was gonna be so awesome, i was like a hunch. its the only game that ive beaten more than 5 times and enjoyed it every one. Masterpiece. but thats just IMO.

IMO makes everything good :) I hated the perspectives in that game, and I felt scared while playing it...not the good kind of "in-the-action" scared...but the kind of scared that's "I'm glad I borrowed this from my friend instead of buying it" scared ;) Smash has unlimited replay value, too. It's the only game I've ever played where I was still learning things about it 4 years of playing it.

Lol what fighting game doesnt have unlimited replay value lol. RE4 was perfect to me. it was sooo fun and it had such great VO's and a great story. not the usual stuck in mansion, with zombies. i guess the reviews prove my point.

The only two games that you MUST own are Resident Evil 4 and Metroid Prime.  They are both top 4 all time on game rankings (based on over 90 reviews each).  After that, there are lots of good GC games out there and you should get the ones that are from your favorite genre.

I own a wii, and I have bought Smash Bros & Batallion Wars (for only 8 bucks at EB, I thought it was a pretty good deal). I'm currently playing RE 4 and Zelda. I've heard that Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem is great (read spoiler free reviews if you can). It got a 9.6 from Gamespot...i'm getting it after I beat RE4.

IMO IMO the exact opposite. lol. Smashs controls were uber clunky due to the stupid GC remote. why do we need 3 buttons for jumping, and a c stick for doing moves, is beyond me. i like the n64 ones controls a hole lot better.

The controls are VERY intuitive as far as I'm concerned. I actually use the control stick to jump, which made it VERY easy for me. I think it's one of the easier games to get a hang of out there, and it's a game that you can actually improve your technique by learning neat little intricacies here and there. I don't even wavedash, and I can still do all sorts of cool sh1t. Like anything else good in life you need to play, play, play it to get the most out of it. It's always nice to have rubes like you guys out there to boost my self-esteem by beatin' ya to a pulp, too ;) (I use rubes in the nicest possible way, as I just like to have an excuse to type or say it) Now if you'll excuse me, it's time for bed. I'm planning on dreaming about ninjas, if you were curious at all.

IMO exact opposite. it is very hard to get use to. like in Halo if you play halo against a bad person and your really good by the end of the night they usually really improve and can end up winning. one time at a halo party this kid who had never played it before ended up winning 3 rounds and im really good at halo.

Smash i went over and played with my friends for the whole night i never won a single round. it has a steep learning curve IMO

I'm going to have to respectfully disagree on that whole chunk of text there. Even on the part about you losing =P I guess not everyone is born a kung-fu genious...or in this case Smash.

[QUOTE="ShakeNBake1491"]http://cube.ign.com/articles/695/695463p1.html This list helped me find stuff i missed.. hope it helps u tooStaryoshi87

out of that list that you need to own is

re4, Smash, and uhhh uhhh w/e u think is best. but yah re4 and smash are definetes. ironically i dont own smash, never got to it.

Smash is the gamecube IMO ;) I couldn't get into RE4 myself and I didn't much care for it =/

re4 owns the gamecube, bar none, i remeber seeing it at e3 the year before and i was like wow that looks cool, so when it came out i instantly bought it, (the reviews werent out yet) a week later my friends like how did you know it was gonna be so awesome, i was like a hunch. its the only game that ive beaten more than 5 times and enjoyed it every one.

Reviews are just more IMOness =P I'll take the Zombies in Smash over the RE4 Zombies any day ;) All i'm sayin' is that IMO RE4 is pretty lame and Smash is darn near perfect. (IMO IMO IMO)

It's always nice to have rubes like you guys out there to boost my self-esteem by beatin' ya to a pulp, too ;) (I use rubes in the nicest possible way, as I just like to have an excuse to type or say it)

i guess cuz im not even gonna lie i suck at smash. and i was really good at the n64 one but once melee came out i really sucked. the controls just were too clunky IMO. hopefully with the VC controller the controlls will get a little better

(off topic) i hate when people use QFT cuz it can mean Quote from truth or Quit F****** Talking. so im always like umm which is it lol. (on topic) yah the controls really bugged me, probably the reason i dont own it.

Nah, I've never used QFT for the negative, so I just assume the positive. Also reduced the damn quote pyramid we had going there.

I think what you mean to say is hopefully with the VC controller you'll get better with the controls...because otherwise it assumes that the controls are bad, which many people probably don't think is true. (Like myself)

lol good job. what i meant was with the VC remote hopefully the buttons are mapped differently so that it is easier to play. now that all the buttons are semetrical and the controller is more comfortable maybe i will have an easier time. either way im gonna play the **** out of SSBB so i can get really good and PWN all everyone online. lol i call Pit.

RE4 is just awsome, when I first got to the first village I was scared to death because the monsters kept comin from every direction. Metroid is an other great game though I never got to play it that much because I never owned a gamecube.
