As for the first person games: Metroid Prime

Although I haven't played Corruption, which looks amazing, the original Metroid Prime definitely took the series to the next level. Everyone was skeptcal about Retro changing the P.O.V., but it turned out awesome! The atmosphere, music and immerse gameplay just rocked! I think I'm gonna have to play the original Prime again, I loved that game!

I'm with this guy. Prime 3 is the best of the 3d versions. But Super Metroid takes the win, hands down. And for those of you that haven't played it yet...get it on the VC. There is no need to worry...one of the best games you'll ever play, period.

Definitely Super Metroid. I remember getting that as soon as it was released on the Super Nintendo. Quickly became one of my favorite games and has remained one ever since.
