Have you ever just sat back and listened to the music of any particular game? Music sometimes goes unnoticed by players while they're more focused on doing something in game. But really a lot of games have some great music. My personal favorite would be Twilight Princess. From the eerie deep sounds of the Lakebed Temple, to the grinding metallic gear feeling of the Goron Mines, to the unsettling acrophobia that sets in from the City in the Sky's music. It's well worth your time to simply enjoy a game's music. Anyone care to share their favorite music?

So far the teased XenoBlade for Wii has the best music.

Right now however it would probably be Super Mario Galaxy.

Smash Bros Brawl with its 280+ soundtrack options. It's got almost everything imaginable. Numerous genres, remixes, original material, several franchise themes and tunes from Nintendo's past and more recent games. It has 3rd party; It has what was once Japan only. Oh did I mention it has over freekin 280 tracks? Yes I did and it's worth pointing out twice.

Super Mario Galaxy. I listen to the soundtrack through occasionally. Brilliant.

Also I love to flick through the tracks on Brawl

GH5, duh! But if that doesn't count since it's not really video game soundtrack, then World of Goo. The beautiful music matches the gorgeous art style. SMG would be second.

The sweet nostalgic melodies of OoT. Loved the background music in almost everywhere as well as the songs learned on the ocarina. The song of time, Saraia's song, kakoriko village, hyrule field are just a few off the top of my head. Didn't so much care for the TP soundtrack, they skipped some of my favourites and I wasn't fond of the pre-existing revisions.

i suppose its okami. its great in function in that there are themes to keep story elements together, overworld music that takes a few notes from the original zelda (sweeping melody to capture the vastness and freedom of the areas combined with a steady beat to give a feeling of progress), and things like that. the prominant use of japanese instruments give the score a color palette as beautiful as the watercolor graphics. also, its able to rise to match emotional moments as well, which is rare in video game music.

Basically this, minus NMH2 since I haven't played it yet. Although I wouldn't be surprised if it did have awesome music.

That would be Super Mario Galaxy and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. Excellent tracks, excellent sound design. I wouldn't want to choose one game over the other.

I'll definetely give a nod to this. SSX Blur was a pretty flawed game, but it did have a slick soundtrack. To throw out another fairly overlooked choice, World of Goo (I own it for PC) had a terrific soundtrack.

Yet so many epic tracks that it's like the same feeling viewing a praying mantis eating a dead snake.

SSBB does have a great soundtrack, but I'd be hesitant to count it because most tracks are remixed from other games.

Well....

Super Mario Galaxy's music was very happy and uplifting.

Twilight Princess really immerses you into the game.

Metroid Prime gets pretty awesome during boss battles.(hardcore techno)

World of Goo, i don't know how to explain it but the music is really catchy.
