Hi, I just bought a Wii last sunday and was having a great time with SMG up until friday. I left for school that morning and when I came back that afternoon,I saw that my Wii was on! Come to find out, my baby sister had turned it on that morning and I askedmy mom when they both left the house, and she said around 11:00 am! And I got home at 3.

In a frenzy, I turned it off and just let it sit for a while scared that I just lost a new system. I assumed it was just left at Wii home all day, no game was started or anything so it was just stuck in Wii home all day. So I started it back up and everything seemed to be normal. So my questions are, do any of you think something might have affected it andsomething could be wrong with it and I don't know it yet? Has anyone had an experience like this? Did the Wii just maybe go into a sleep mode all day and it was perfectly fine? Please help with advice, thanks.

If you don't notice anything wrong, then there's nothing to worry about. Like all of Nintendo's consoles, the Wii was built to last. Leaving it on for several hours won't hurt it. You could probably leave it on for a week with no problems.

I leave my Wii on For like 24 hours all the time, it doesn't harm it in the slightest. It's a Nintendo console not Microsoft, they don't break at the drop of a hat.

That would have only been 4 hours right? Im sure many more Wii's have taken far more abuse since the release of Galaxy and lived :).

lmao

It's the same as playing your Wii all day, which I do regularly. It's a-ok. It's got a fan, it'll be alright.

I'm leaving mine on all night as a server for Medal of Honor. I'm so nice. :P

11 to 3? I wouldn't call that all day, lol. I'm sure many people have had gaming sessions on it for longer. I'm sure it's fine.

One time I was going for a week long trip and when I came back, it was on. It still works fine, too. My point is, I don't know how long it was on and it's still like new.

What's the problem with leaving it on? I treat my Wii like my computer, it stays on pretty much 24/7. I've had it that way for the 10 months or so I've had the Wii, no problems. I can't imagine they're so fragile that you have to worry about leaving it powered on?

Ok, just so I get this right...

Your Wii is on and you think something is bad about that?

You're the kind of person who unplugs their TV set and all that jazz every single time you go out?

Something like that happen to me but worse (We have two wiis in the house, this one is in the living room) My sister´s friend turn on the wii because she want´s to play with her, she puts Wii play, perfect. but they never played, they went out, then my dad starts watching TV and so. every time that i passed by that the wii and saw the little green light, i though it was yellow so i just walk away. That was friday. It stayed like that all weekend and in monday, i was going to download Check mii out on that wii, i turn on the TV, put video 1 and i see the Wii play main menu screen, i quickly turn it off , i realieze that the wii was turn since friday, the thing is that the wii was actually cold, so i didn´t worry. Working well so far.

i have always left all of my systems on sometimes for days or even weeks at a time if i'm in the middle of a hard dungeon during a buys school week or something

i still leave my NES on for days at a time and my PS2 etc. etc. i know you risk over heating but i have NEVER had a problem in 20 years. so don't worry about it, but if you are just be more careful in the future.
