Is it just me or do they really seem to be downplaying this game on the WiiU? I know there is alot of hate for CoD games here but still its like the best selling game series and yet even on the offical website when you click preorder I dont see a mention of a WiiU version. Do you get the nuketown bonus map? Do you get the double XP weekend and all those promotions I am sure they will be doing for double XP like MW3 had. Will there be a CoD Elite program like I had on the 360?

All signs indicate the Wii-U version is going to be the worst version available out of the consoles so yeah, I guess it's being downplayed but for a reason.

Activision will do all they can but we've seen no signs that Nintendo's online service will be robust enough to satisfy a game like this.

Online gameplay is paramount to the game and with no word of it there's no real reason to get excited.

Factor in no things like special editions or launch DLC and it's kind of the dud of all versions.

It sounds and looks gimmicky on the WiiU, but for some strange reason it just looks really appealing to play it on the Gamepad. I don't know why, but it just does. I might actually get the game even though I haven't played a CoD game since the first Modern Warfare.

Yeah that's fine for you but you're casual.

Again, software on a Nintendo console is hitting it's core demographic but that means that Activision is missing theirs.

What you don't care about is the backbone for a more experienced game player, the lack of info about those things cripples the title.

Lack of details of how the Online will work with the Wii-U is a huge turn off. If they screw it up it could really hurt them trying to say they want to enter it.

Its call pointless trolling, that's why he says everything he says. When it comes to CoD because MS severely lacks exclusives, they try and push CoD on the 360 like its an exclusive.

The first day they announced it, they said it would have the same content as the other versions.

I am not a hater. I am excited for the wiiu. I was just checking the blackops website because I got a email about preordered to get nuketown and I dont see a mention at all on it of wiiu. That got me alittle nervous. It lists 360, PS3, and PC but nothing else...

Oh, JaysonGuy. You don't even try anymore. Nuketown was confirmed days ago for the Wii U it's a pre-order bonus. Retailers may not be listing it yet for Wii U because it wasn't known until last week, but rest assured it's coming. Why wouldn't Nintendo's online service be robust enough? It has user accounts, the Wii's crappy online was robust enough. Treyarch has confirmed the same player count in matches, all the same content and in 720p native HD unlike the other console versions. Also, the Wii U will receive all DLC that is sold for the game after launch, Nintendo and Activision are working on that now Plus, add in the off-TV play and native HD and honestly the Wii U version will be the superior (console) version.

Correct.

I'm excited about BLOPS2 on the Wii U. It will look better than the PS360 versions. I can play two player with my girlfriend and we each get a whole screen to ourselves.

I've been following Nintendo pretty closely over the past year, I think they know what the online system needs to be able to do in order to get the job done.

I am sure that nintendo's online should at least be good by now. I am just curious why the offical black op2 website doesn't even list wiiu anywhere I have seen. Thats kind of weird if you ask me.

That is weird.

I don't think it will harm sales of the game on Wii U though. In New Zealand, a massive nationwide retailer (Mighty Ape) lists CODBO2 as the 2nd best selling Wii U game after New Super Mario Bros. U. So, I'm pretty confident that Wii U buyers will know that a major FPS game will be released on the platform.

I would assume because they have everything focused on, what day is it Nov 13? They know many Wii owners will upgrade to the Wii U and that will net them some good sales, but the bulk of the sales will come from the current gen and PC. And more importantly, they want to try and break the day 1 sales record again, you know how much that means to them. The Wii U doesn't factor into that and they probably don't want too many people holding out for the Wii U version.

Yeah that's fine for you but you're casual.

Again, software on a Nintendo console is hitting it's core demographic but that means that Activision is missing theirs.

What you don't care about is the backbone for a more experienced game player, the lack of info about those things cripples the title.

Now Jaysonguy, you already know I'm not casual, nor hardcore. I'm not saying you as a overall player are casual, just for this franchise.

Most of the focus for a CoD game during pre-launch is for the 360 version, i.e. the one that always sells the most.

Who cares what stereotype you think he fits for this particular game? Why lump him into some dumb category when his gaming interests are clearly much more complicated than words like "hardcore" and "casual"? Who cares if he's a "casual" or "hardcore" COD player? Do these terms really matter that much to us?

As long as it has map packs I'll be happy. I've barely even used elite in Modern Warfare 3. The only reason I had it was because it was a better deal for getting the maps. Really looking forward to the off tv play feature. My kids hog the TV a lot so I'll be able to play more.

Double XP weekend and Nuketown 2025 map as well as even the listing of a WiiU version of the game is now on the offical website. http://www.callofduty.com/blackops2/preorder I am hoping for at least the same gameplay experience at feast as the other systems only because its just a launch title of what is mainly a ps3 and 360 fan based game.

That's great. I hope it's not a mistake. I hope they alter the double XP weekend though. As the game is coming out on a Sunday.

It looks like an exciting game, but I don't play online at all, in any way. Given Activision's habit of six hour campaigns, and I'm not sold on finally playing a COD game any time soon. I need better bang for my buck.

I hardly see how its the dumbed down version the only thing its going to lack at launch is the elite subscription package thats available on the other two consoles, you get DLC content and the grphics are going to be a minute amount more pleasing on the Wii U because the game will be true native 720p upscaled to 1080p. Other can have there other versions with below 720p gaming.

nah... call of duty on wii has thousands playing everyday all night all the way back to reflex.... no problem finding games... and wii is funny because you can choose any name you want... people call themselves aids and stuff...and in the kill screen it says " you were killed by aids" lol

that's one of the perks of friendcodes imo.... so im happy the wiiu will use 1 friendcode for everything...and for the multiplayer games we can choose any names we want.

If I'm not mistaken the WiiU version has been confirmed to be exactly the same as the other versions and that Activision is working with Nintendo on bringing the extra services like elite over as well. (As has been mentioned in several posts in this thread already) As for the user base, it will grow. May be small on the beginning but give it a few weeks/months and I'd wager you'll be surprised.

Free online is the main reason I want Black Ops II. The online in the previous Wii titles was pretty good and with the Wii U's online at worst it'll match what the Wii did - and that's okay.

I think the Wii U version will end up being the best console version.

So you think less features and a smaller userbase for online matches makes it better?

I'd love to hear your explanation

Go away, troll.

So in other words you can't back up anything you say and I'm right.

Can't say I blame you

If I'm not mistaken the WiiU version has been confirmed to be exactly the same as the other versions and that Activision is working with Nintendo on bringing the extra services like elite over as well. (As has been mentioned in several posts in this thread already) As for the user base, it will grow. May be small on the beginning but give it a few weeks/months and I'd wager you'll be surprised.

There's no plans currently for Elite.

What's worse is that Elite is now free and the most Activision will do is have someone evaluate the need to have Elite's features on the Wii U.

Along with that the Wii U version is missing things like Nuketown Zombies.

Also there's only one edition of the game to get, the collector's edition isn't even offered for users.

Black Ops is following the very long list of games on the Wii U that are missing parts of the entire experience

Again you turn to insults instead of using facts.

It's a shame there's nothing to back your argument at all

I think the "poor" one here is the one with no facts at all to back up their argument lol

For some reason you think having the least amount of features makes something best

Those are some valid points. Plus, we don't even know how Nintendo's online will shape up. $410 is a lot to gamble on a system and game that relys heavily on internet and userbase.

You think a stupid service that is free, and will likely come to the Wii U in the future anyway, and it simply has content that should be included in game anyway is a missing feature? Do explain. Don't be coy, you should probably understand the reasons why he may think it would be the best console version: 1. Off TV play 2. Split-Screen using Game Pad 3. At least it's 720p native I don't understand why anyone would want to use Elite to begin with personally. The Wii U will get all DLC anyway so I see no problem here
