I know to some of you guys this Black Wii is getting old. But I was just wondering what new features does the black wii have that the good old white wii does not?

The new feature of the Black Wii is that it is colored black instead of white, that is all. :)

i havent looked at the 2 side by side, but I can say with VERY little doubt that the ONLY difference is color of the plastic. who knows, maybe they build the insides slightly different, but no reports/articles say that. why dont you just buy both of them and see for yourself? :-)

Apart from the colors black wiis have a slight hardware difference, the dvd loader, this isnt advertised bc it doesnt matter at all to the final user. The new dvd drive is the same on speed, the difference is that it now blocks pirates from using any kind of backup dvd game, which IMO is good for third partys and ninty, hence its good for ourselves!

The black Wii has more uniformity with the new classic controller which only comes in black.

i still dont see the point on that. The normal Wii still gets you The BBC iplayer and we only really use it for games o.o

I know, but this was created to try and avoid piracy, this gen sadly the wii is among the most pirated platfforms ever, just behind the pc. As I stated this is not meant for us final users, its meant for protecting software from being pirated, so sales of certain games arent in theory hurt. More sales equals more happy devs and happy devs mean more great games for our system.

I haven't heard that but I guess they may have changed the optical drive (it's not actually a dvd drive as a Wii disc is proprietary). It's probably not just on the black Wii though it's probably on all new Wiis It would be kind of stupid to only protect against piracy on just black Wii's. It would be pretty racist too.

Nope. It's just an extra color. Nintendo usually releases a new colors for their consoles later in there lifespans. There were like 4 colors for the Gamecube and about 10 for the N64.
