i am sure i read somewhere that eventually they will release another colour, but in the UK they are still hard to get hold of in white so i guess its not really needed at the moment
It was supposed to be three colors for the Wii at launch as shown by the old JeuxFrance video (Which I have) of Metroid Prime 3. It was a White one,Light Blue one, and a White one but I guess they decided not to release the other two for a while.

Buy a freaking case mod. Talismoon.com sells black wii cases with an interchangeable message light. Wait one year for the Nintendo warranty to run out.

If you want a black WII you then you should just use some masking tape and spray paint and do it yourself. Or if your warranty is done just take the case off and spray paint it that way so you will not have to worry about wrecking the internal hardware.
I'd love to have a black Wii, byt the only reason is for when stupid people come to my house, and my Wii is black, and they'll say "I thought the Wii was white" andthen I'll luagh at their stupidity, and take of the decal

They will, along with many other colors, eventually. It's the same marketing plan they've done with every handheld they've created. "The Gameboy's getting old. Well, color it blue, for God's sake! Make sure you put it in a bunch of different colors before we launch the Gameboy Mini...or SP...or Micro...or GBA...etc, etc." It's not a bad plan, either; just very predictable.
Wii's will be in different colors, but I'd guess it won't be till 2009 at the very least. Nintendo can barely manufacture enough white ones right now, so I don't think color variety is in their list of major priorities.
These days gamers have options. Case mods, decals. You don't need to wait to buy the console or rebuy it. Just spend 20-40 bucks to recolor your existant console or portable to the color scheme you want from a list of options.
