I got the black wii without even thinking about it. Are there any disadvantages/ advantages/ features to either of the wii's? kipohippo021
Well I think I heard someone say that they are the same but just different colours. And I agree with him.
Wii pre 2010 you get a Wiimote and Nunchuck and Wii sports.
Wii 2010 you get Wiimote with Motion plus and a Nunchuck and Wii Sports AND Wii Sports Resort.
I think Wii 2010 (Black Wii) is a better Deal IMO.
but they're the same console.
the white one's also being sold with motion+ and wii sports resort.Wii pre 2010 you get a Wiimote and Nunchuck and Wii sports.

that's why I said Wii 2010. I only put (Black Wii) right there as an example.
Why does everone think there is a difference. It's not like this is the first time in history a system has been offered in a different color or anything.
but alot of those come with diffrent features and stuff, besides nintendo stuff anyway. Why does everone think there is a difference. It's not like this is the first time in history a system has been offered in a different color or anything.

True, Microsoft and to a lesser extent Sony this gen have released about 100 sku's each, mostly adding bigger hard drives. Throughout the history of videogames though releasing in another color just meant it being in a different color. I guess that can be confusing to some people. Why does everone think there is a difference. It's not like this is the first time in history a system has been offered in a different color or anything.

white wii gets yellow... eeew... @derek - but you see, the wii is part of this generation, so confusion is understandable, even if nintendo's not doing what the other 2 do anywhere (from console standards to market focus to "let's release a new version with an even better cooler!")The black wii gets finger prints and dust all over it.
the white wii dosent.

Black Wii is far inferior because of it's hardware inside the machine most people think that it's the same just a different color but no the black Wii has a far less color variety and you will notice in time with games to look a little more dull. The black Wii already has more can't read disk error reports and friends have told me freezes have occurred during gameplay but i haven't had a game disk error or a freeze with my white Wii and I have had it since launch. It's the same machine with a different color. Your friends were unlucky and I envy you for still having a working Wii since launch. My WHITE Wii (from 2007) started to freeze and stopped reading my games.
the white one's also being sold with motion+ and wii sports resort.[QUOTE="BrunoBRS"][QUOTE="LegatoSkyheart"]

No it is not the same machine you are wrong.[QUOTE="ANIMEguy10034"][QUOTE="Julius0555"]Black Wii is far inferior because of it's hardware inside the machine most people think that it's the same just a different color but no the black Wii has a far less color variety and you will notice in time with games to look a little more dull. No it is not the same machine you are wrong. The hardware has not changed. It's the same thing, but black. Just because you haven't experienced any problems doesn't mean the Black Wii is inferior. =__=
I traded my White Wii for a black one. Fantastic move!
What I noticed is that the black one came preloaded with more channels such as the internet and Nintendo channels which was very nice.

The only difference I can think of is that black absorbs more light than white and it would therefore heat up more if in direct sunlight. So just don't put it in direct sunlight...
That's not true! I got a white Wii and I got the evil trolls that steal socks. Stop spreading lies!White Wiis have magical elves that come out to do your dishes for you at night. Black Wiis have evil trolls that steal socks from your laundry at night.

I'm just telling you the experiences that i have had with it and i just wouldn't risk itin all honesty....... I think the white version of the Wii actually looks kind've toy'ish compared to the black one even though there is no difference between the two.
shy guys only exist in the mario universe because of this "dream", so i wouldn't discard it. and you're on the wrong thread :Pthe issue with any Super Mario Bros. 2 explanation is, that whole game was a dream. So nothing hold through to future games.

Just to be ultra nerdy I'll add to this that Black is best if you are going to worry about the console heating up. While it is true that black surfaces absorb more radiated light than white surfaces and therefore heat up more, this as you say, is only an issue if you leave it in the sun. More importantly, black surfaces also release more heat via convection than white surfaces, ie they give out more heat, enabling the inside to stay cooler. This is why traditional kettles are a shiny silver in colour, so they keep as much heat in as possible while boiling the water.
