It's a good read and I must agree.

Personally, I love what Nintendo is doing right now. Most of those "good" 360 and PS3 games really don't appeal to me, while the majority of the Wii's do. There are some great third party games like Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party, Sonic and the Secret Rings, and NiGHTS: Journey into Dreams.

Why?? Do you like playing garbage ports? Do you not want good games on the Wii?? What did he say that wasn't true??

Why? People don't usually get themselves fired for writing true quality articles.
anyone who thinks this article is bashing (the few in this thread)...you should go and check out NG4.
They absolutely love the Wii over there!!!! Trust me.

the point is that such information is actually going public. you never hear about the wii's lackluster games etc.. all you hear is how everybody can use it and how fun it is yet more non-cansual gamers arent pleased with the console. its good to see that this is info is front page on one of the most popular wesbsites. it gets people informed. just look at the comments from people who've read the article. its what some of us have been saying for a while now.
It's kinda true. Specially when you see the games that are coming out on the other 2 systems. Just look at GTA IV & Rockband. The Wii can't even make a good game like Rockband better, despite it being released later it even got stripped down making it a downgrade from the other 2 versions. What's worse it get's ports of PS2 games (RE4, Okami) just for the games to have a 2nd chance in life. The really good developer's are moving on to the next gen & the Wii will be like the missing link between the PS2/Xbox & the PS3/XBOX360. It will continue to get ports from the old generation sytems with better graphics but downgraded games from the nextgen.

Most of the people who are informed about the console know that it still has alot of good games. WHile i too think the Wii needs more games, I think every system needs more games. The Wii needs good third party games but that does not mean there is a widespread unsatisfaction by hardcore gamers. You just hear a few loud uninformed gamers say "I only have 2 games and I havent played my wii in months." While in those 2 months okami, SSBB, Bully, and MKW have come out.

i find what you're saying to be flawed. i think a lot of people are informed about the console and are just fed up with the lackluster games that are on the wii. I am one of those people. i played okami for ps2 and i own bully for 360. i also have ssbb but that basically got really boring to me after a few weeks of playing especially because it was a headache to play online with my friends and i dont feel like inviting people over to play all the time. and i played mario kart and was not impressed by it and didnt buy because i bought gta4 instead. nintendo just caters to its casual audience which is understandable but i dont complain much because the wii isnt my only console.

Okami is better on WIi, Bully is better on Wii, SSBB is an awsome game, MKWii is a great game. All of those games have rated well. Your personal opinion=/=reality. I dont see how you reflect all hardcore gamers esp when you unlawfully downplayed some great games.
The only problem is that he said that "8 out of 10" is good. That is not true. 8 out of 10 is great.
In fact, anything that gets a 7.5 or higher is considered to be a "good" game by many reviewers. I know for a fact that games that recieve a 7.5 out of 10 can still be good. I mean, look at Wii Sports (currently 7.6 out of 10 according to Metacritic).
On top of that, if you want to draw the line between "good" and "average" games, you have to give it a buffer because some "average" games are actually really fun, but lack polish, while some "good" games are overrated in many people's minds (For example, a lot of people hated Mario Sunshine, even though it recieved an average of 9.2 from reviewers).
So where do you draw the line?
Well, everyone has their own opinion. Me? I'll buy a game that scores poorly if it looks like something I'd be into. To me it's not so much about review scores as the reviews themselves. Does a little number matter to me more than the subject matter in a game? No. But I know that it does matter to a lot of people. In fact, some people won't even look at a game if it doesn't get a 9.0+ (which I think is sad, but whatever).
So overall, to people who only care about what score a reviewer gives a game, then yes this is a problem.
But at the same time, after only a year and a half, there are over 20 "good" games on the Wii. Who really needs more? That's like buying more than 1 a month at this rate. If you need more games than that, you need another hobby or something to pass the time. There is something good for every type of gamer on the Wii, and in time there will be more. That's kind of how these things usually work.
I'm not worried in the slightest.
