Wii + Social interaction with real people = Friends.JustWiicredibleTrue, too bad that I have to work so much though. I do know some people that have never liked playing video games, and when they come over to my place they really enjoy playing Wii Sports.
for myself:
before wii = loser
after wii = losermattyftm
Great, you just reminded me of my situation.:cry:Â

This proves Nintendo's going down the right path. I too have friends that played wii sports as their very first video game and now are playing the likes Splinter cell and Godfather. It's the perfect indroduction to the gaming world.
The Wii didn't really win me new friends, but all my non-gamer friends have kinda started to pick it up. But please, everyone who DID get new friends through the Wii, do yourselves a favor: GET OUT OF THE HOUSE MORE. Make some friends on your own.zstick7
Yeah, I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty anti-social, its not the way I wanted to go, but its just the way I was. Don't get me wrong though, I do go out a lot with my brother and his friends, but I don't really throw myself out there to meet new people. The people I had met in the dorm were really cool, and sometimes I would hang out with them when we were bored. However, now having a Wii, it made them to kinda get to know me a lot better, and its taking me out of this anti-social stage that I was in. I guess you can kinda say that I'm loving life now.

Make some friends on your own.zstick7There's nothing wrong with having some friends and gaining more through the Wii. You've obviously never been in a dorm or apartment setting, where it can be fairly difficult to make friends without something common between you and the other people. The fact that the Wii gets people new friends doesn't mean they couldn't have gotten them other ways...it's simply a means to an end. Is it any worse than making friends through sports, or a book club, or anything else? Those are all just common activities that help you meet people. Common activities are how people meet people. Do you gain friends through osmosis, or what?
That's pretty cool I guess. Making friends is always fun. Although personally it hasn't affected me socially really. My friends come over to play it once in a while but it's not really a big deal. We all have Wii's (except for 2 of my buds  at them). But yeah.

I'm a junior at a university and I'm living in an apartment right now. As for how I make friends, I'm just outgoing. I wasn't trying to flame anyone for making friends through Nintendo. Sorry if it came across that way... I just wanted to say, don't let Nintendo be your only social interaction with those friends. I think it's great that the kid is getting invited to go out and stuff. He should let that be his opportunity to be more outgoing and make even MORE friends in even MORE ways. Again, sorry if it all came across as flaming you. Congrats!Â
Yes, I am hands-down the biggest nutjob in that union. A lot of them are afraid of me *Smiles a very big smile with lots of pointy teeth + curly mustache*.Â
The Wii is a social console, nothing more to be said...
Well, to all the people who think that you are a 'loser' why don't you, instead of sitting inside feeling sorry for yourself, get up and go outside and make some friends. It isn't hard?
People that complain about something then dont do anything about it are annoying, the most annoying people ever.
If you say you are a loser and dont have a problem with it, that is fine... But dont complain and sit there, do something!

Losers can have friends, Just their friends must be losers too. I have plenty of friends, but they are losers to. There is a big diference between a loser and a loner.
Losers are people that don't win. How can we be losers if we're winning in video games?ShadyNinjaMan1
I'm not sure why people started talking about how people that don't have friends are losers. All I said was that I was anti-social. I agree, losers are people who don't win. I'm guessing everyone that looks at forums are gamers, and gamers always win. So that makes us all winners right?
