Just quickly to sum up how the game feels. The game is hard to get used to but after about 45 minutes you will figure out how to hit straight shots instead of those unwanted hook or slice shots that you get. The easiest thing is driving of the tee but making your approach shot to the green is some what complicated. Gamespot said that the visuals dont look so good but I completley disagree, I thought that the games visuals look better than the original Xbox. The grass sways more and everything looks better and the player models look good as well. The putting will take some time getting used for me but overall the game is pretty good and hope for improvements in many areas for Tiger Woods 2008.

How is the selection of clubs? Is the default club you use on a shot perfect or can you improve by changing it.

Is it difficult to judge how to strike the ball? Compared to Wii Golf for instance? Because there's no swing meter :?

This game looks real interesting to me and I'm thinking about possibly getting it. Would you personally recommend it, even though it's hard to get used to and all that?

That's what killed Wii Golf for me. I'm pro in everything but golf because of this.

I found it hard until I learned to get the best from the swing meter, I can't imagine a golf game working without one.

I love the game. I bought it yesterday and would definately recommend it. I would put it in the top 3 of Wii games currently out. Although there seem to be a lot of good looking games coming out later this month. The graphics are pretty good, but not great. One problem is it is hard to make you own character. There are so many options and it is hard it make it look like you. There are no options for glasses or sunglasses. Unlike the Mii, where within 10 mins, the guy looks just like my Southpark double.

It is hard to start with, but with practice (like real golf) you will get the hang of it. There are plenty of different ways of playing it and it will certainly keep you entertained for many hours. Multiplayer games are a blast. Just wish you can save a round half way through and come back to it later.

I think this game is great.   I do agree that the graphics could use help (i'm running it on a 50LCD Sony HD with component cables if yuou care to know) and that the lack of online play sucks, but the gameplay more then makes up for it.  I've been a hung golf game fan for a long time and my roomate has TW for the 360.  The 360 version will collect dust next to the Wii version.  What else, ahhh the controls.  The controls can be a little sketchy at first but not impossible to figure out.  You just have to remember to approach your shot like real golf.  The people who go up to their ball  and try to just whip thruogh the motions quickly as possible,  thinking fast equals power, will have issues, but you know if you ever played real golf if you rush your swing you will shank the hell out of the ball.  So slow it down some and the results will be much better.  I also haven't found the putting to be all that difficult and quite easy to perform the "putt" correctly....   If you are having trouble with your new character you made hitting everything accurately it most likely isn't the game, but YOU.  I'de reccomend playing your "guy" and then maybe a few holes with Tiger and you will see how the game can perform.  It seems as if (this holds true for many Wii games) that the game is getting blamed for the poor control.  While every game ever made in video game history has had its flaws with control schemes or response most get overlooked becuase we are so used to the standard game controller.  With the Wii its all new.  I think some people will put control issues on the game and not themselves like we have read in many reviews of TW.  I'd say for most of the control issues you hear about its the indian not the arrow.  The controls work great for the most part and provide a very immersive golf experience...  That is how I feel about the TW and my friend (a golf pro I might add) thought it was pretty true to real.  My favorite Tiger so far.

In conclusion if you can get past the half-assed graphics and lack of online play you can pick up the best golf game for a console to date.  I'll give it an 8.5/10.

Yeah, thats disapointing for sure. Its like the EA dev team never played wii sports. You can still estimate your power once you get hang of it, but its so touch that you are either hitting 100% or 40% . Its really hard to hit in between that. Also, the hook and slice is terrible, but that because I have a crappy golf swing. Setting the swing to Easy, erradicates that problem and makes it more managable.

I thought wii golf was horrible....it was too sensitive....in real life golf the maximum swing in wii golf will get you the ball about 100 yds....
