You're first tutorial helped me after. :P Nice job though. Thumbs up. It's too bad that it requires so much work to get Brawl's online working properly.

Nice guide :).

I've been trying everything but the same issue still remains...I can't find other players :(. It keeps seeking and seeking and never disconnects.

What could be going wrong?

Set ur router to channel 1 or 11. see if that works. If not try turning off ur NAT.

After a bit of testing, DMZ'ing my Wii makes all the difference. If I don't DMZ, I can't find anybody or I get errors/disconnects. With the DMZ, I can usually find someone within 2 minutes or averaging around 15 seconds.

yeah that is the most important mainly because the DMZ relieves the Wii of NAT restrictions that cause conflicts with nintendos servers. Thanks for showing your results.

Try disabling your NAT. What is your router?

Looks like Nintendo also did some work on the servers, for Christmas. Its now only taking me 3 secs to connect, as opposed to 9 secs earlier. I also played two random matches that ran smoother than normal, and the button lag is definitely less noticeable...

It's an MSI RG60SE. Not much info about it. It doesn't seem to have an NAT option :(.

EDIT:I hope that the servers don't work according to your country because that would be a huge problem.

I'm pretty sure there are a few servers. I don't think its by country though. Possibly more of a regional thing. Although japan might have their own servers, and I'm pretty sure the Americas do too. Not sure about the pal and aussies.

It could also be that the server only matches you up with people if you have less than 50ms to their servers (or people).

Hope not.

Well i think the main reason its not workong is because your router is not supported by nintendo. you may get a connection, but its not going to work correctly. That and the fact that u dont have a NAT option. Did u set a DMZ port? Like others have siad thats the most important step.

Router isn't listed on Microsoft's router compatability list either and it works perfectly on Live.

Also Mario Kart works perfect online and I can play friend matches on brawl and download spectator matches.

Yes, DMZ is enabled.

Check your routers manual and see. all routers have different layouts in their settings. It took me a while to find mine because it was hiding in the WAN section. Also make sure ur routers channel is set to 1 or 11. Also make sure your your router is supported by nintendo. The main reason as i seen so far is the fact that most peoples routers are not supported by the wii. The only ther option u may have is buying the wireless network adapter or the LAN network adapter(more effective). I hope you are able to resolve your issue.

Theres really no advanced matchmaking going on, besides maybe what controller your using (which Isn't proven)). If theres a game available when you ask it to find one, then it will match you up, as long as there are no problems with someones connection.

Everything else works.

Even after 3 hours it's still seeking someone to play...

There has to be a reason.

I noticed that if you keep ur comp that is directly connected to ur router on, the search times decrease significantly.

Hmm I called my ISP and told them to put me on a fast path (ADSL) to reduce my latency.

Dunno if it's just a coincidence but I mostly manage to find someone within 30 minutes today (instead of 3 hours) and it also sometimes finds 2.
