You know, I did try to sign on this morning and I kept getting a "Network disconnected" error, which I've never gotten before. Plus, everything else connected to my router, including the Wii itself, worked just fine. Maybe they did do some maintenance.
I'm sure if I tried to play it right now, it would still take 20 minutes to find at least 2 people.OreoMilkshake
Yeah really..I mean I can go try right now to see whats up but I dont have anyone from these forums as brawl friends LOL.
Brawl online is very dependant on the connection speeds of everybody playing. If everyone has a fast stable connection the game is lag free. If one person has a slow or unstable connection the match is laggy. It actually has nothing to do with the Nintendo servers. Its all luck and the trust that people with crappy internet connections don't play online. The game would work better if it matched people up with like connection speeds.
well Im gonna post my brawl friend code up on the list so if you guys wanna fight then hit me up ok. I have a good connection speed. Oh and I just got on had onl ONE match today and it was laggy as hell!!
Well whats up with the random match issue, I have a good connection I can play Mario Kart Wii worldwide without a problem, I'm in the Uncharted 2 beta on the PS3 without a hiccup, I play my 360 online with no trouble the only game I have a problem with is Brawl, because I simply cant find a match. That's not that's not the fault of my connection.Brawl online is very dependant on the connection speeds of everybody playing. If everyone has a fast stable connection the game is lag free. It could even be the Havok engine because Deadly Creatures uses it and it has terrible framerate problems. Yes it does.[QUOTE="AlmightyDerek"]Well whats up with the random match issue, I have a good connection I can play Mario Kart Wii worldwide without a problem, I'm in the Uncharted 2 beta on the PS3 without a hiccup, I play my 360 online with no trouble the only game I have a problem with is Brawl, because I simply cant find a match. I have great fast internet that wired and whenever i go to random matches on ps3 or 360 there is lag in 1/2 matches. Like playing halo there'd always be one or two people stealing internet from their neighbors and they'd make people teleporting everywhere. Same with uncharted but worse. Its been so bad before that once when i was playing online in halo the time just suddenly stopped in the match, and the reason i got annoyed with this was because i was dead and the respawn time stopped too. Yes it does. The framerate in the game isn't bad though, it works great. I don't think i've ever had framerate drops, only just matches where its like slow motion brawl because of one bad connection.if ur having trouble i made a tutorial on how to fix the lag. its in 3 parts.

So all the trouble about brawl online was mostly because people had the definitions wrong and were slowing each other?

He was just complaining about Brawl's match-finding system. He even mentioned that he's never had a problem with MKWii's online. Maybe you should cool it and make sure you're reading posts correctly before you turn on your fanboy rage.[QUOTE="Sepewrath"][QUOTE="AlmightyDerek"]

I've been satisfied playing the game online with random people since it came out, and I never thought it was as bad as people have tried to make it out to be. Over the past several months the game has ran noticeably smoother though for sure.
You have to understand that every games network infrastructure is setup different. Just because you can get online fine with the majority of your games, doesn't mean that its going to be the same for every game you buy. If your having trouble connecting, or finding matches, its as simple as properly configuring your connection so that it will work with the way the games network is setup. You cannot blame Nintendo for not configuring YOUR connection.
I've never had any problems whatsoever connecting in any online game since the PS2 days, and its probably due to the fact that I'm not firewalled, and the ISP I have (ATT), and the way their network is setup. There are going to always be some server issues whether your connection is perfect or not. These issues will usually resolve themselves after time. These issues seems to occur more at peak hours when a lot of people are on the wifi connection, even when it may not be a large number of people playing the same online game your playing. Its kinda like the servers for all the games are together or something.

That's not that's not the fault of my connection. Many games will automatically try to create a match that's high quality by matching you with people nearby or with good connections. Smash Bros. doesn't discriminate and also is a very fast paced game that lag will effect very much. Most other games don't have to keep track of every move that closely (such as Mario Kart where karts positions are approximated cause it usually doesn't matter if they are in that exact spot.) so you won't notice any lag. Fighting games usually have some lag anyway (even on the other systems). Smash brother's is a four player fighting game that runs at 60fps. Its not hard to screw that up.Brawl online is very dependant on the connection speeds of everybody playing. If everyone has a fast stable connection the game is lag free. If one person has a slow or unstable connection the match is laggy. It actually has nothing to do with the Nintendo servers. yeah brawl wifi is pretty so-so for me. this one time, i was playingwith two friends, the game was going fine for a while, then a the last 7 seconds, the game froze and we were waiting there for like 15 mins! but im goin to try that thing on youtube that painguy1 said to go see :)
ooh and btw, if everyone here is playig random people, at my site (in signature) we have loads of people who play wi-fi all the time. And our site is pretty active too so if anyone wants to come and play, we're open for new members :) (also, i just want to say that people at our site are pretty good if you want a challenge... and then there's me O_o LOL kidding im pretty decent)

not exactly, but this helps get rid of interference from nintendos servers. It opens up ur NAT which also causes lag in the 360. I found a similar guide to this on Nintendo, but they didnt go over the static ip part which i go over in this tutorial.
Good to hear, I have been getting back into Brawl lately. I played my buddy in California the other day and it worked fine, so I was happy about that.
