Breaking news: Next Fatal Frame game is exclusive to the Wii!

"Tecmo has been silent about Fatal Frame for some time now, but that doesn't mean the horror franchise has been forgotten. To the contrary, 1UP learned at Tokyo Game Show that Tecmo's enlisted the help of Grasshopper Interactive to produce the next Fatal Frame game. And here's the kicker: it's for Wii.

Grasshopper will start on Fatal Frame when work on No More Heroes, recently announced for a US release via Ubisoft, has finished. Given that No More Heroes was developed on Wii, Grasshopper seems content on Nintendo's console.

Taking photographs of ghouls has been a part of Fatal Frame since day one, so motion controls certainly make sense for the series, but the last we heard about the next Fatal Frame seemed to have Microsoft and Sony's consoles in mind. "I already have some ideas that I'd like to do if I had more development time and a more powerful system," said Fatal Frame 3 Producer Keisuke Kikuchi all the way back in July 2005.

Never played Fatal Frame... then again i never played Resident Evil until i got my Wii. Since the games are somewhat similar, maybe i'll enjoy it as much as i did Resident Evil 4.

Never played Fatal Frame... then again i never played Resident Evil until i got my Wii. Since the games are somewhat similar, maybe i'll enjoy it as much as i did Resident Evil 4.

Even though there wasn't too much in the article I have to say that I'm excited about this. I've never finished a Fatal Frame game because they have scared me to the point of not wanting to play. I can say that I did enjoy the games a bunch.....if I wasn't such a big baby I'm sure the series would be my favorite in the survial horror genre.

Now that the game is coming to the Wii I'm sure it will be even scarier than what it was before. I don't know....something about taking picture's of ghost with the Wiimote is a bit freaky.

I like the feeling of being in controll but not knowing what's going to happen. I always play in the dark with the volume up.

I figure, I might as much get the most out of my games.

Lol! If the camera shakes as much as the Wiimote is (assuming your hand is in the air and not leaning on the chair), and you're scared so your hand is shaking alot. It's gonna add so much more scariness to it!

It's a puzzle/horror game.

I know it sounds lame, taking pictures of ghosts. But it actually turns out really well.

You get a camera that's able to see things that you can't normally see, ie. ghosts, clues on the walls and stuff. You can upgrade the lens, get better film and stuff.

But the way you kill ghosts is by getting good shots at them, a non blurry, headshot does more damage. You get what I mean.

It's actually very scary though, if not the scariest game I've ever played.

Suda51 doesn't work for Tecmo, man. Fatal Frame is a Tecmo game, and no, Itagaki won't work on it, he's Team Ninja and busy with Ninja Gaiden 2 at that. But Suda 51, not a Tecmo employee, so sorry, no.

Dunno, though I hope they adapt the SPM-style point mechanic for the camera (ie. you point at the screen, it automatically goes into camera mode, point the Wiimote away and it returns to the third-person mode).
