It was a decent shooter for its time, and you can squeeze a little fun from this one even today. But the game was riddled with some annoying bugs, and whereas the storylines in previous Brother's in Arms game were long and engaging, this one really didn't contain that much of a plot and ended a little too soon.
Not bad, but not great. 6.8 for me.
It's an over-the-shoulder perspective, isn't it? I'm trying to recall why I haven't picked that one up yet... I loves a good WWII shooter...ston3henge
Yep. And for the most part, it is a fun shooter, and the game displays some neat graphical touches here and there. (Like how you start out the game with your parachute snagged in a tree, and you see a plane fly down then collide with the ground below and watch what's left of its burning metal carcass slide across the field before cutting yourself loose, for example.) It has it's moments, but some control faults and short length hold it back. Still, if you find it at a low price I'd consider giving it a go!
What're the faults in control all about? What didn't work about it?ston3henge
You aim using the touchscreen and squeeze off a round with the L button, (depending if you're left or right handed) and move your soldier via control pad. To steer vehicles you use the control pad to move and slide left or right on the touchscreen to change direction. It doesn't sound difficult at first, and as you start playing the controls fair rather well... But if you play the game for more then 15-20 minutes tops, it actually starts causing physical discomfort to your firing hand. And it can make some of the intense moments in the game a little more frustratng than fun. Example: the scenes in which you're driving a tank and have to fend off a number of German Hunters from jumping aboard and tossing a few grenades in at you. The aiming on the tanks can feel a little loose and that isn't made any easier if your hand is beginning to cramp.
I guess you could say that the game is better played in short bursts then hour long marathons. The controls won't kill you, but they could have used some work overall.
It was a good game but Call of Duty WoW is better.crookedshoes
"World AT War"... not "World OF Warcraft"... don't confuse the easily confused.
