why are you against bubsy?2006dc5
Basically the last two posters summed it up. The first one for the SNES and Genesis was passable at best, but the one that was in 3D...there's a special place in designer hell for the team that made THAT mess!

I thought the first Bubsy was a great platformer. The other two not so much.
You guys are making me sad, Bubsy is a great part of my childhood SNES playing hehe. I loved the first one I use to play that all the time.RockyH2O
At least Bubsy was better than Pond: James Pondfugwit
I liked James Pond as well. That was such a weird series for me as a kid for some reason. Probably wouldn't be as fun to me nowadays, but I liked it a lot as a kid. Part two was better than part three. Never played the first one.
Bubsy, ugh. This post reminded me of another awful mascot, Gex. Talk about s****y games!peach79
Why does every plat-forming character have to be some sort of mascot in so many of your minds? I don't get it. How does a character in plat-forming escape from not being a mascot wannabe then? Geez.

 Pretty much.Bubsy, ugh. This post reminded me of another awful mascot, Gex. Talk about s****y games!peach79
I was going to bring Gex up earlier, but I decided not to. For such a cheesy character, I actually liked that little smart-mouthed gekko. His games may have been average and the character's jokes bad, but it all didn't come off as corny and generic as other platforming games of the same kind. I think Gex was one of the better mascot wannabes.
So I thought Gex was alright, but then again the last time I played one of his games was when I was about 13, so my tastes since then have definitely changed. Probably couldn't stand to play a couple of levels in if I picked it up now.
Also, to users wondering why there's so much hate for characters like these, I think a large part of it is due to the fact that while some of these games may have been somewhat entertaining, they all featured rip-off characters. All the "mascot" games were blantly stealing character traits and gameplay design from either Sonic or Mario, especially Sonic in the character trait department. There were so many "in you face", "edgy" anthropomorphic animal dudes with "plenty of 'tude" in the 90's, it was ridiculous!
If their respective series' had lasted longer, or if their games at least had something truely memorable or outstanding, then there would be more love for the characters. At least that's what I think.Bubsy, ugh. This post reminded me of another awful mascot, Gex. Talk about s****y games!peach79
