Buy DS games for an 8 year old boy help plz!

hello my nephew is turning 8 next week and i wanna get him a DS for his birthday,can u plz recommend for me 3 games to get him?i don't want anything violent or rude,maybe something that stimulate his thinking and suitable for his age.any help is appreciated thanks:)

Brain Age (will bore him but you said stimulate)

Kirby Squeak Squad or Kirby Super Star Ultra, the kirby games are really easy so he won't get frustrated and they're rated E.

any mario game (new super mario bros and mario kart are probably best)

or Professor Layton is good too but it might bore him after a while

the layton games are awesome(just got them today) but an 8 year wouldn't understand it.

i see most of u recommended mario and pokemon which i will buy,but what is the difference between each mario game and each pokemon game?i saw a game called drawn to life,he likes drawing and coloring,or is zelda better?thnx for all the help:)

2. all mario games are good platformers and mario kart is a good racing game for all ages

3. drawn to life would be ok too but if you can wait till the 15th scribblenauts will most likely be better

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl

I doubt playing a violent game will make him become rude or violent but im not to judge :P

get big bang mini its a great shoot-em-up which is suitable for kids and may help him multitask better.

but if youre looking for more variety

(new super mario bros is completely different from mariokart btw, but mariokart is better imo)

Each Pokemon game has little difference, but out of all of the ones released right now, Platinum has the most.

P.S. I don't think I kid would really like Scribblenauts too much actually. I know I wouldn't at that age.

8 year olds dont really care for learning (im pretty sure).

new super mario bros, pokemon platinum, and maybe warioware touched should be fine i guess.

You should DEFINITELY get New Super Mario Bros. My 7 year-old niece loves the hell out of it :D

Eight is definitely too young for Professor Layton and Elite Beat Agents.

I would get him Pokemon Platinum, Mario Kart, and perhaps Animal Crossing: Wild World.

Also, next time use the recommendation thread (DS Link in my signature).

Try any Mario, or Kirby game. Also Animal Crossing: Wild World. If you get a Pokemon game, get Platinum version because its both diamond and pearl together + you get a villa in that game =p

I went today to the store and got him a blue DSi seems like a nifty handheld system,also i got him a pokemon platinum,mario kart,new super mario bros.,legend of zelda and sonic rush,i know i said 3 games but sonic and mario kart had a price discount and he's a good boy he deserves extra 2 games.thanks for all the recommendations i don't know a thing about ds games i play only on my xbox360,thanks again that was really helpful:)
