[QUOTE="Hyrule-master"][QUOTE="The_Pig_Hostage"][QUOTE="Hyrule-master"] The game looks good GS has talked about more than just picking up cocanutand mowing lawns for the overworld. They talked about racing with your motorcycle.
Yes the regular enemies are a bit repetitive but the action is mixed up with new wrestling moves and weapon upgrades. Also the boss fights are not repetitive at all. I think its a lack of analyzing skills to merely pass this off as a beat em up. One of the coolest things about this game is you cannot label one genre on it.
Not to spund elitist or anything but this looks, unfortunately like one of the most worked out Wii games and is good depending on what your preferences are and I would say if we want more hardcore games on Wii this is a MAJOR testing ground for this. I dont know if you guys realise that Third party devs main justification for turning a blind eye on Wii is that it wont sell well on Wii.No More Heroes could easily change this view but there are too many people who will not broaden their horizens. This is a cult game and does have narrowed crowd, but thats only because there is so much ambiguity in teh VG industry that anythuing out of the ordinary is generally ignored.

No offense, but I am really sick of hearing that. The game isn't even out yet, and we have people practically telling us that it's our duty as Wii owners to buy it. It's ridiculous... you don't even know how good it's actually going to be, and I doubt that other developers are out there holding their breath just to see if this game sells. "Well, the Wii is the best-selling system on the market, but let's only develop for it if this one particular beat-em-up is a success!"
Now, I could see some logic to suggesting that good sales for something like Zack and Wiki could send a message because it truly IS something out of the ordinary, doing something original with the Wii's capabilities(plus, we actually know that's it good, since it's actually out already). But No More Heroes looks like just a beat-em-up with a few waggle controls added-in. That's been done a million times already - the only things setting this one apart are the blood and the attitude. (and maybe the quality - but we don't know that yet, so don't act like it's a given) And I don't think some wrestling moves, weapons upgrades, or motorcycle races qualify this as something particularly original, inventive, or risktaking.
I just wish people would stop acting like this game is so important- that, as Wii owners, we're all supposed to buy it, lest the Wii forever suffer from a derth of quality third-party titles. That's just hype, and it's really annoying.
First things first, chill out no need for such an aggravated tone.
Second of all People are so emphatic about this because there are not of games like this on the Wii. People want more games in this style and quality (japanese reviewers have given it 9s and 8s). Maybe you dont care about how third party developers make their games on Wii but other people dont just want Raymen Raving Rabbids andcheap arcade racing ripoffs. This is the sort of game that will change that view for devs whether its logical or not. Publishers constantly make decisions that are not logical.
I never saidsome wrestling moves, weapons upgrades, or motorcycle races qualify as something particularly original, inventive, or risktaking, I said that it would break of the gameplay.
If you would look at the situation you would realise people who are worried about the success for thisgame have a point. Look at the the third party games coming to wii and tell me thats not troubling. If more games like Zak and Wiki, MoH: H2 and No MOre Heroes sold better there would be more games in that fasion with even more quality and attention. Developers are not gonna start making these games until we buy them.
Well, that's all well and good if it comes out and turns out to be extraordinary (though I probably still won't buy it because its attitude rubs me the wrong way), but for now it's just hype.
yes because every game has to be extraordinary to merit a purchase?????? No.
The game looks like 8.0 range and for good reasons. Either way its worth paying attention to because its one of the most dedicated third party games out for wii, unfortunately. If you want them to push beyond this quality then you have to show them, again unfortunately.
