Buying a Wii?

I was thinking of buying a Wii this december. Is it worth getting a Wii or will it just end up being a waste? I currently own a 360 and love the online but wanted to play some games such as MP3, SSB, and MK....any price drops on the Wii soon? and what games should i get if i do decide to buy a wii?TechSidd

I own a 360 and Wii. Right now the Wii is lacking, especially if you put it up against 360. I would reccomend waiting for Metroid prime 3 before making a decision to buy one. The 360 on its own is really all you need for gaming, but knowing nintendos past with its unuique games and new motion controls, why not own the best of both worlds. Still, I would hold off buying a Wii untill the price drops. A few games I enjoy are trauma center, elebits and vc games(even though theyre free online).

More awesome games havn't even been anounced yet, so you will have plenty to play in the next year or two on the Wii.

Price drop on the Wii? I don't see that happening until the next gen comes out, and who knows how long that'll be.Laus_Kaemdis

Yup he's right why would there be a price drop on it when they are doing so well on sales you should buy it now.

Maybe the price will drop next year. I doubt it will take until the next Nintendo console comes out. Also, don't count on the price dropping while they're still hard to keep on shelves.

I'm gonna buy a Wii tomorrow. I'm gonna get RE4 Wii Edition, Zelda: Twilight Princess and Red Steel with it. I've already got RE4 and LoZ:TP on my Gamecube but there's nothing else I think I'd like. On the plus side since I've already beat them I know they're good games.

Lair comes out soon and Bioshock near the end of the month so they'll also be keeping me busy.

Dont make the same mistake I made. Skip buying Red Steel, or at least rent it. The game is terrible and it almost turned me off to the Wii completely. As for the other games you plan on buying, have fun, they're enjoyable Wii games.

Nintendo had nearly sold 10 milion of Wii. So, no price cut soon.

It's pratically sure there's going to have another shortage by the end of the year because Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros Brawl are all coming this year. Also, WiiFit is probably coming in Q1 2008 and this game or periphical is destined for the people who bought the Wii only for WiiSports (ie. the non gamers).

Why the heck are both of you talking about price drops?!?!? There won't be one for over a year probably. I say you should just get a Wii because the games are great now and there are going to be even more great ones some of which are all of the ones you mentioned.

Honestly, here are your options:

1) Get a Wii now, and wait a month for Metroid...actually, TP, RE4 and Paper Mario should definately tide you over until that.

2) Wait a month for Metroid to come out. Here's the problem with this option though: With MP3, SMG and SSBB coming out in the next few months, a Wii might be hard to come by. But on the other hand, Nintendo might be holding a lot of Wii's in storage specifically to fit consumers needs for those games, so who knows.

3) Don't get a Wii.

I have a Wii, and I love it. But everyone has a different opinion, and it's up to you. I like the Mario related games myself, and the Wii makes for a great multiplayer system, so if you have a lot of friends who come over to your house, without a doubt get one.
