Hey guys, I am thinking of buying the first two Golden Sun games used (as they are CRAZY expensive new on amazon), and I was wondering if you guys think buying from gamestop is a good idea? They have the first one in a bin of GBA games just piled up, for $7.99. Or I could get it off Amazon for $16.00 in "very good" condition. I wish the new GS was on 3DS though :P

I dont see why it wouldnt be a good idea if its cheaper and you can look at the copy before you get it where as random dealers selling through Amazon can be a crap shoot at times.

Ive bought some GBA games from gamestop for a cheaper price then I could get them online, so I say go for it.

True, but I know that I have had Gameboy advance games that lose the data randomly. I don't know if this happens because of the games flaws, or the systems flaws. Anywho, maybe I will pick it up tomorrow :)

The Golden Sun games truly were classics. To me, they are one of the most definitive RPG stories ever told. The battles were fun and upbeat, even despite the fate of the world hanging in the balance, and there were some pretty challenging moments and times where you'd get stuck on a puzzle, then finally solve it and think, "Boy I'm stupid." lol.

I'm still not sure what I will think of GS3, but just from watching videos of it on Youtube it looks awesome and every bit as good as the first two. It is my most-wanted game for the duration of the year, besides of course for WOW Cataclysm.

I say pick them both up for the cheaper price! To answer the other concern about the memory problem, this is only with bigger games, such as pokemon, the cartridges have a battery on them and it can die, which cause the memory problems.

Go with the cheaper ones from gamestop. I've picked up quite a few from them with no problems, including Golden Sun one and two
