This is so sad, one of the best games our time (imo), and it doesn't even make it to the Wii. I really wish Activision/InfinityWard would port this to the wii, because it better late than never. I truly think Treyarch's going to butcher CoD5, I'm not hoping so, but I got a gut feeling. Too bad infinity ward is already putting effort to the 6th game in the series, or I'd think it would still be possible. Online would completely own.

Does anyone else feel this way?

Even if the controls are good, the game will lack the same fidelity. It just wouldn't be the same.

But it would at least be a good online game for the wii. You can't really compare wii online to XBL, they're just too different.

Right, but I thought he was comparing it.

I could understand them not bringing it to the Wii, except for the fact that they brought it to the DS of all things. That's just weird.

meh...there'd be no way of capturing the cinematic feel of the single player in CoD4...i mean the story and the action cut-scenes rival some war-action movies....i just dont see that happening on the Wii

That's a compelling point... instinctively I'd say "That's crazy... they can't scale this down for the Wii..." but I forgot the DS version. I haven't played that, but it's almost certainly terrible.

I've got two hopes for Nintendo's future, really:

(1) That instead of releasing abysmal 360/PS3 to Wii ports (like a theoretical COD4 port), they focus more on original IPs that are designed to cater to this console's strengths, of which graphics are not one.

(2) That next generation, Nintendo releases a comparably powerful system to their competitors. I understand that Nintendo's console fortunes pre-Wii were a little meager, but now that the Wii is a worldwide phenomenon, I'm hoping that they go back to at least getting in the same ballpark.

This is true, but the same thing could be said about a lot of the exclusives that are on the Wii. Still, even a lesser version of COD4 would have been good on the Wii. As far as the on-line goes, I don't think it would be all that bad really. Personally when I play it on the other networks, only on one do I use the chat feature, but most of the times I just go in for a quick random match and play a few rounds and give up because I SUCK on it.

I don't think they are thinking in porting it to the Wii. Being honest, I think the game wouldn't be as great on the Wii as in the other consoles. The controls would be great, but the graphics and online, not so good. Maybe is better to keep these kind of games for other consoles.

Well if Callof duty 5 is gonna be for wii that will be pretty sweet. I still wish they would get it for wii tho. Truthfully other than poorer graphics i bet the gameplay will be way funner than ps3 and 360.

No, because I have a 360 and I know that CoD4 is the most over rated game I've palyed since Resident Evil 4.

And if it were ported to the Wii it would have so mch left out and would look bad in comaprison.

I don't know which part of that sentence to correct first. Calling CoD4 and RE4 overrated in the same sentence just makes you look stupid.

Call of Duty 4 would not be the same on the Wii. It wouldn't match up graphically, which is a huge selling point. The game play also wouldn't be as fast paced. Look what happened to the last Wii Call of Duty title...

No, i hope they don't port it to the wii.

It just wouldn't work, the graphics, nintendo's bad online system, and no voice chat would just make it not worth it.

I hope infinity ward just makes an exclusive CoD game for the wii like MoH did with Heroes 2.

You know nothing about Nintendo. Nintendo was making money off the Gamecube. They didn't launch the Wii to be cheap, they launched the Wii to change gaming. If you think the next Nintendo will be as powerful as the PS4, you are deluded. I bet the next Wii at most will look close to what the PS3 looks like now. Nintendo's strategy is to shift the focus of games away from graphics and onto gameplay. The graphics on the Wii are fine for me. I don't see how Nintendo would shift to a money losing strategy like the one you suggest when they are doing so well with an underpowered console.

personally I don't find it too sad
I have a PC and have played the first few levels of this game

found it pretty rubbish so I never bothered anymore. Dunno why everyone loved it so much, it's story is so vague a military esque... you don't even play as the same person or in the same army for the duration of it. not my sort of thing at all.

You, sir and/or madam, are the deluded one, believing everything that Reggie Fils-Aime spoonfeeds you. I know nothing about Nintendo? I've purchased every console and handheld they've released in the US. I've owned most of the peripherals as well -- ROB, the NES Zapper, the NES Advantage, the NES Max, the SNES Super Scope, the Gameboy light/magnifier combo, the N64 memory expansion, the GBA adapter for Gamecube... yadda yadda.

I had a Nintendo Power subscription since before your parents discovered that the condom broke and that you would be inconveniencing the world around you within the next 9 months. The N64 tanked, the Gamecube was a bomb, the Wii was their last chance to remain relevant in the console world... and they did it by looking at what made the DS so successful and replicating it on a larger scale. And it worked, obviously, in a big way. I'm not trying to flame here, I'm giving you information. And if you're going to close your ears, you should close your mouth along with it.

actually he was right, nintendo did make money off the gamecube, and the wii wasn't their last chance. Nintendo were actually the only console to make money off their hardware last generation. microsoft were about in as much debt as nintendo made (which was around a few billion) and sony made a bit of money from their software.
Nintendo could easily have gone the high graphics high cost route, but why when there are two consoles doing that perfectly fine (and boringly I may add).

korpx

The only problem with Call of Duty 5 is that they're making a PS2 version, making it a 50% chance that the wii port will just be a port of that with a few motion controls here and there. I really hope they just build the wii version from scratch, but that's not very likely with Treyarch (I'm not in any way saying CoD3 sucked, it just could of been better).

This post made you look foolish. My parents were born in the 40's, so I doubt you were reading Nintendo Power back then. So what if you have played other consoles. I have played them all, as well. I told the truth, and you had nothing to counter what I said, so you went on a rant. Nintendo did not choose the Wii because they had no money, they chose the Wii because it's what people want.

If you don't like the fact that the Wii isn't as powerful as its competitors, then go buy one of their consoles. The Wii is not a graphics machine and neither will the next machine be. The Wii is designed to get gamers more involved in gaming through a unique experience. Most of the games I play could not be played on other consoles. We don't need a Microsoft Wii360. The Wii is just fine the way it is, and for the next generation I think Nintendo will focus more on improving the motion sensing rather than making better graphics. I doubt the Wii 2 will be more powerful than the PS3, and if you knew anything about Nintendo's strategy, you would agree.

The Gamecube was not a bomb. How can the only console that made money on that scale be a bomb?? Please take some economics ****s before you even attempt to talk to me. Do you expect Nintendo to lose billions just so you can have some pretty graphics like the 360?? I personally have like the graphics on almost all the games I've played on the Wii. Very few games have really bad graphics. If you choose your games carefully, you'll see what I mean.
