Has anyone heard if Nintendo can allow third-party companies to make Wii Channels? If they have, why aren't any avaiable? remmbermytitans
Of course Nintendo can allow third-party companies to make Wii Channels. What you should be asking is will Nintendo ever give permission/actually allow them to make them. When I say actually allow, it differs from what you said because it's not about whether Nintendo has the ability to or not, it has to do with whether Nintendo wants to give the ability to third-party companies. I would have to go with the answer being more than likely no.
I was actually thinking about that today... weird.
Right now, I'm disappointed with the channels Nintendo has released recently. The Mii, News and Forecast channels are alright, but the rest are either garbage or unnecessary.
I am excited about Everybody's Nintendo Channel, but so far the channels don't add much to the Wii experience. Third party channels would be awesome as long as they're game related and actually mean something. Seriously, the Check Mii Out and Everybody Votes channels are pointless.
I wouldn't mind it if some third-parties made channels like the Metroid Prime 3 Preview channel for their upcoming games. Some smaller gems of games would have really benefited from it.
I've never thought of that cuz i don't pay mind to the channels... partly cuz they suck! sooo.. if at all possible i welcome all third party contributors :)
