They use the same formula because it works. Why do you need to change something when it works fine, especially when switching it might hurt you a lot.I used to like it alot but i dont care for it anymore. The same recycled formula has gotten stale imo.

I like it because you get alot for your money. Even after you beat it, you can spend loads of hours completing side quests and all kinds of other stuff.
Because you know wht you getting with the game and if you know what your getting you wont be disapointed same thing with zelda and mario
It's got a cartoon, 3 0r 4 movies, a huge advertising campaign, it's simple to play, the pokemon have been well designed cute with catchy names, the toys are everywhere and all that other mechandise....anything else?
Pokemon has an addictive formula that can cater to a wide range of people. Qualities such as training Pokemon to level 99, then getting a set of 6 a major aspect most probably get addicted to. Then the cuteness of Pokemon, alongside with collecting cute Pokemon, furthermore to the extent of collecting ALL the Pokemon.
Pokemon also gives a good sense of achievement - short term through to long term. A
E.g
Leveling up to level 10 or catching a weedle is short term.
Then hatching an egg or leveling enough to defeat a gym is a medium term.
Then defeating the elite four, collecting all the Pokemon and getting a set of level 99's is long time.
Then not to mention it kinda does what McDonalds does... It captures people when they're young, they fall in love with the franchise (could be subconscious) and finally stick with the franchise as time goes on.
About the formula...

Same here.I simply can't stand the series anymore.
Multiplayer. Although grinding for levels is fun, you haven't truly experienced Pokemon until you get competitive about the game's multiplayer.
I don't have anything against the Pokemon series, and I know how fun and addictive it is. Still, it makes me sad how much more (and I mean a lot more) attention Pokemon games get than anything else.
There are more games on the DS, people!
The training, the winning, the collecting... It gives a sense of acheivement and rewards.
I first got into Pokemon when I was pretty young and I was so addicted I actually learned from it. I could compute math and I had a high reading level for my age. :/
Pokemon motivated me back when I was 6.
[QUOTE="Pdiddy105"]They use the same formula because it works. Why do you need to change something when it works fine, especially when switching it might hurt you a lot. Exactly. If they changed it, they couldn't call it Pokemon. I mean really, every game franchise uses recycled systems. Name one that doesn't and i'll show you a liar.I used to like it alot but i dont care for it anymore. The same recycled formula has gotten stale imo.

Pokemon is popular because there isn't anything else that does what it does so well. It'll be that way until I make Zumamon.ZumaJones07Dragon Quest: Monsters does and it was created in 1992 before Pokemon which was made 1995. Alot of people call it a copy of Pokemon but its not. And Pokemon didn't exactly copy Dragon Quest: Monsters either because its uniquely different.
Couldn't tell you, but given the massive amount of enthusiasm for these titles on the boards recently I have half the notion to go pick up Platinum just to see what it is I am missing.
i grew up with pokemon infact the gameboy and red was my first ever system and game also the multiplayer is good to but it could use tweaks like in platinums wifi plaza you should be able to talk with the person instead of preset questions
