Can I use the wii remote to play GameCube games?

Just wondering as Im thinking of geting a gamecube game, but wondering if I'll have to buy a gc controller :s

You need both a Gamecube controller and a memory card. Also, the Wii will act as a GameCube. So the wiimote will be useless on the GameCube games likeyou can't press on the home button during a game.

Nope, but you can get the Metroid Prime Trilogy and play them with the Wii mote.

No matter how many times I press the Home Button on the Wiimote....no you can't.

What happens is that the console basically switches it's hardware to "Gamecube yo", so no Wii-specific features will work. This includes bluetooth (for your wiimote) and HDD access.

So in order to play GCN games, you need GCN controllers and memory cards.
