Since No More Heroes 1 sold about half of 1 million, do you think the sequel has a chance of ever hitting 1 million copies in sales?

no way....
I could see it doing a little better than the first, but even so.... I doubt it will hit a mil. But..... I guess that depends on if it's advertised
[QUOTE="OreoMilkshake"]No but I don't care.Cruse34
Thank You I don't get why people are excited about this or liked the first one. maybe 600 000 in sales eventally and the developer complains about it
Whoa whoa I didn't say I don't care about the game. Just how much it sells. I'm playing the crap out of this.I would be amazed if it hit 700k. It doesn't have the marketing muscle of a million seller, and, as games like MadWorld have proven, there isn't a very large audience for M rated action games on Wii.meetroid8And I guess the failure of rated E games and platformers show there is no market for games like Mario and the failure of rated T games show there is no market for Zelda and Metroid. Don't qoute articles full of scientific fallacies, if someone actually try to present a statement like that as actual data, they would be laughed out of the building. No More Heroes as a mix of violence, crude comedy and sexuality(perfect for the western audience) has the potential to be a strong franchise but the lack of marketing will keep it form ever achieving that. How many games have you seen go on to greatest that had no marketing?
I think it has a chance. Sequels to games almost always perform better than the originals provided that the sequel is an improvement and this seems like it going to be much better than the first. It may not hit a million but I think better sales than the first is almost a guarantee and considering the original sold well, that's a great thing. I just now got around to beating the original and I'm really pumped for Desperate Struggle so you can bet that it'll sell at least one copy...
Well, lets say everyone who wanted to play the first did. Obviously not everyone is going to like it, so you can cut out that portion of people who don't want to go through it again. There are those who didn't like it but will give the sequel a second chance. Of course there are those who liked it and are obviously going to get the sequel. So we are already below the original sales here and we don't know how the wild card (people who haven't played the first but are knowledgable and those who are devoid of any knowledge) will act.
No, I don't think it will get 1m copies sold.

Doubt he'd be laughed out of the building since it's the companies that made those claims in the first place :PTheguy56Actually its been IGN and Gamespot that has been saying things like that. Every publisher has actually been saying that they think there is a viable market for M rated games. Well until Sega started crying foul about it even though Platinum said they think there is a market for games like Madworld. ^This game will not do any better in the world of GoW and Ninja Gaiden, thats why no one is picking up the port for a NA release.

I thought No More Heroes sold much more than Madworld though?
Ah sorry didn't realise you were talking about the PS3 version.
Well No More Heroes did sell better than Madworld but that is mostly after price drops and of course the big difference in time available. And I was talking about the the original Wii version. That last sentence about how it will not do that well in competition with the likes of NG and GoW was in reference to clickety. SepewrathAh sorry got them mixed up.
sorry, but put simple: no the game do not have enought appeal to sell that amount. The 1st was OK, even if they improve the poor attempt of creating a "open world" that was the last game, I doubt it would end having enough hype to sell that amount and even less the reviews that in website would attract curious players looking for "good" scored games. but hey... everything could happen... and maybe I`m sure, I sure would like that. I`m starting to get worry about the suffering of some sales. NOTE that I`m getting the game, so do not start the NMH fanboynish :) chang_1910
You hat-- oh never mind :P
No More Heroes 2 could sell twice that much but not the way it has currently been advertised. It would probably reach a million but not any time soon because it would take a while for the word of mouth to get around.

RIDICULOUS CLIPS WITH BAD QUALITY AND AWFUL EFFECTS!!!

suda's not the best marketing and advertising manager.
i thought it was genius marketing. game like this cant have huge ad budget. so there was little advertising. and a lot of nutso bonkers videos that got the nmh fans psyched for it. yes many were ridiculous w bad quality and awful effects - but many were the coolest things ive seen to advertise a product ever (those dev vids?? that launch trailer?? the heavy breathing video??) and all of it made me remember what i love about nmh, a game btw that haters say is ridiculous w bad quality and awful effects!! i dunno, at least among my friends, the vids absolutely stoked interest in the game that normal advertising wouldnt have.

if their idea is to attract potential buyers, then they failed. ads aren't made to make the fans that will already buy the game like. ads are for people who don't know about the game to see how it is. ads are made to attract people. the NMH2 ads definitely didn't do a thing to help.[QUOTE="iamico"][QUOTE="BrunoBRS"]KITTY PARTY!!!!

I believe it really has a chance at doing so, but it's going to take forever without any marketing (TV ads anyone? haven't seen any)

gamespot has the more "regular" ones. the most nonsense ones can be seen on the nintendo channel. the official ad (the one that shows up before some videos load) is as bad marketing as the others. Please Log In to post.
