Ok, so Naruto comes out and IGN says...

"Simply put, Clash of Ninja Revolution is Wii's best fighting game, and with no worthy contenders on the horizon"

Ok but the Wii already had one of the best fighters on ANY console at launch with Dragon Ball Z 2 where IGN said...

"One of the best anime brawlers around. Period."

and...

"Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 is one of the most entertaining and fierce anime fighters around."

Mind you that they're talking about a launch title for the Wii and the sequel is coming out this holiday season. That version will boast more players and online play. So what's up with IGN saying "no worthy contenders on the horizon"?

Now Naruto scored .1 higher the Dragon Ball Z and yes, I understand that the reviews for games change every single year because there's different factors. But when this title beats out DBZ by .1 and there's a title coming that gives the player more content and online play how does anyone justify that this is it for fighters for the year.

I'm not a fan of either series but DBZ is a solid fighter that was pretty amazing to be pulled off so well at the Wii launch. Now it and it's sequel are written off?

I think DBZ BT3 will overall be better.

When it comes to the Wii, IGN is often the antithesis of Gamespot.

Really not hard to figure out if you would think about it. DBZ:BT 2 was released before Clash, so at the time was the best anime fighter. Now, it would seem, Clash is the best anime fighter for the Wii. Eventually, another anime fighter will come out the will be the best ever. This is simply called progress. Applies to most everything in life.

Ok, read the first post again.

They say after Naruto "no worthy contenders on the horizon"

Huh? So at the IGN offices they can't see ahead any farther then 3 weeks?

I understand that IGN and more importantly this department is nothing but Wii fan service for everything but now they're so in the dark they don't know what releases are coming?

I don't know either...but maybe they didn't think someone would take their statement - "no worthy contenders on the horizon" - too seriously. It probably would have been better to say, "The best brawler to date"...or something along those lines...

Thats what I was about to say. Although many times reviewers tend to stretch things out like how every time a good movie comes out the commercial for it says 'Critics are calling it the best movie of the year' and then you hear the same thing for another movie a month later.

They'll probably be saying the same thing when Smash Bros. comes out for Wii.
