Now that the cat's out of the bag regarding the release of Nintendo's new console for some time next year, can we expect to see rather rapid price drops for the Wii until then? Nintendo will likely be tryin to clear out their remaining inventory over the course of the next year or so, so I could definitely see the Wii going as low as 130-150$ by Christmas time. It's already selling for 169$ at Best Buy here in Canada...

Yeah, probably $150. Not lower than that.

It was already announced not too long ago that it was going down to 150 in may :P Retailers cut it to 170 to try and move as many units at a higher price before Nintendo cut the price

So then it wouldn't be at all unrealistic to expect it to dip below 150 by the holiday season then?

No, the 170$ price drop is the official one

It would seem you are correct! My bad on the misinformation, hard to keep rumors and facts in line these days with everything going around :P

Well, I already have a Wii so the price drop isn't as important to me as software price drops - which seem to be happening already!

I think in the UK it might go to £90, This allows some profit at a good price considering that the Wii's lifespan is almost over and a new console has been announced.

LESROU

its one of the wiis best looking games and no it won't go down it will get discontinued

I assume 150 is as low as the wii would ever go before being discontinued
