I want a straight answer here and some discussions. Does anyone actually know for sure that you can get banned or are people just making up crap? I see hackers on MP:H every day and it doesn't seem like they are going away... I can't see how they would be getting banned.

Biggest thing is that if they get notorious and then people may not play with the so they get blackballed. Otherwise no banning as of yet.

Nope, but i wish you could Kick/Ban in some Wifi matches ( Mario Kart, MPH ). But only the person who's hosting the game though. That'd be nice, Action Replay users. x_x; Annoy mee.

No, you cannot get banned as everyone else has stated earlier. There really isn't much to discuss as far as Nintendo's handling of online goes...it stinks. While that might seem harsh, online play is clearly an afterthought as far as Nintendo is concerned. This is disturbing especially since online play is desired now more than ever. Once again Nintendo is lagging behind.

You might say, oh but they're innovative...and the arguement could be made that the touch controls are really little more than a gimmick, but that can be battled about another time. While Nintendo looks for new ways to revolutionize, they're ignoring the basics...improved graphical capability, online functionality, expanding the market outside their trademark characters and so on.

In my opinion, that last one is the only one that can be a "basic". Some players have lots of online play and options, some others search 1 p games. So, this isnt the topic here.I dont know what can do Nintendo with this situation ¬¬

Srry for my english xD xD

You know, cheating would never be a problem if the developers would quit half-assing online play and actually provide a rule-checker in the code so all connected clients can detect when illegal actions are taking place.

But yeah, it bugs me though, especially users with pirated copies of games who go ahead and modify their visible stats to make them appear as gods.

Unlikely, but I'm sure if you become notorious around the "Wi-Fi community", you will probably be shunned from many games.

Except for "the touch screen being little more than a gimmick", I have to agree. Online play is a great deal today and Nintendo isn't dealing with it as such.

No. Remember Nintendo doesn't have online experience so give them a while to get everything straight.

I have an easy answer to you: Just disconnect as soon as possible. If you for example in MKDS suddenly get contstant Blue Shells (or other powerup) thrown at you, or notice they come flying at a strange rate or similar: Or for example notice someone going by constant mushs (full speed without snaking). Or try to play tracks not available for online play. Or for example in Tetris see anyone droping constant four-row (blue) pieces. Just **** disconnect and leave that cheating sucker on his own, where he belongs. That'll make the laugh on the cheater. Whatever you do; DON'T STAY AND FIGHT HIM!!!

I think the game cart itself needs a way to ban on a local level. i.e. When I boot up MPH, I can view Friends, Rivals and my own personal ban list. On a side note, I was playing MKDS online for the first time the other day and was going 1 on 1 with another racer. We were neck and neck on the second lap (I was trailing since the beginning) and as soon as I tore ahead, my opponent shot a blue shell at me. I'm not sure if you can even get a blue shell when you're in first. Seems kinda suspicious to me. Fortunately, for me, the shell didn't hit me. It hit my opponent because I fell behind to second place before it got near me. Immediately after, my opponent d/c'ed. Sweet!

yeah, I was playing MKDS yesterday, and this one guy had 1,000,000 wins, he chose the GC Mushroom Bridge, and once the race started I was barraged by like 20 red shells all at once! And after like 5 seconds of the racemy game froze and I had to disconnect and turn my DS off (of course I was going to do this even if my DS didn't freeze).

And for Tetris DS nobody should be getting constant blue lines in standard 2p mode, unless they hack of course. Thankfully I haven't dealt with any hackers on Tetris DS yet.
