I plan on buying a Wii, but I really only plan on buying the following games (please don't tell me I shouldn't buy a Wii just for these games, that's not what I started this topic for):

Both Mario Galaxy games

Zelda: Twilight Princess

Zelda: Skyward Sword (when it comes out)

Metroid Prime Trilogy

I may get a few more, but those are the games that I'm pretty sure I'm going to get.

Anyways, I was wondering if you could play these games effectively without hassle while sitting down because I can't stand then I play because my TV is low (when I stand up, it's at about waist level).

Any input on this topic would be appreciated.

What about the Zelda games? I was playing a demo of Skyward Sword at Best Buy, and you have to swing you arm in order to swing the sword.

oh, i'm not too familiar with the motion plus controls, but even that wouldn't require you to stand up.

Yes to all except for skyward sword (I haven't played it yet so I don't know). Actually, all those games are better sitting. They use the pointer and you will want to rest the controller for better accuracy.

While I haven't played Skyward Sword (no one here has really), I would imagine you will have to atleast sit up judging from games like wii sports resort and red steel 2.

Yes, Yes, and Yes. The only Wii games that ever felt weird to play sitting down were the Wii Sports games.

I hope it won't be a problem playing Skyward Sword sitting down. You use your arms a lot in that game.

Yes, to all of those games. Can't say for sure on SS but swinging the sword should be no problem sitting. Wii Sports Resort was the only game I ever had to stand up for. Even Mario Party is easy to sit down and play.

Skyward Sword shouldn't be a problem sitting down, Red Steel 2 had similar controls and was completely manageable while sitting.

idk about Skyward Sword. That item circle menu thing looks like it'll be hard to access smoothly while sitting. I really don't know, but we'll see.

Those games don't require standing. In fact most games you buy won't require standing.

You play all of those games sitting down.

With Skyward Sword though, playing standing up might be a bit funner, but you still can play sitting down (you might need to sit up though). I'm making this judgement from Wii Sports Resort.

You can play most Wii games sitting down as very little movement is actually required to make things happen on screen. That said games like Wii sport are a waste of time to play sitting down... I still don't get why people do that.

With the exception of Skyward Sword (I haven't played that) you could play all of those sitting down.

I have my Wii setup on a desk in my study and I've had no trouble playing the games you listed.

I'd also recommend adding Xenoblade Chronicles to your list if you like RPGs. I'd also recommend OboroMuramasa (a.k.a Muramasa) and an advanced controller.

There isn't a game that requires you to stand up. (unless your using the balance board)

SS is the only one that may pose a problem. I've played all the other games (sub Trilogy for MP3) and I've played them all sitting down or lying sideways.

Yes, you can play all of them sitting down with some effort. Perhaps the more intensive ones are both Zeldas but even then you can do it I don't know your background but I can share with you that I enjoy playing on my feet much more :D

They're all fine sitting down, although I like to stand up for some of the more intense boss battles :)

You can play all of those games sitting down. In fact, with the exception of some sports and fitness games, the Wii is mostly a regular couch-potato system.
