I know it has an HDMI port so I was wondering if you can plug it into the computer and play with it on the computer screen instead of tv screen

@jayk: Youd have to plug it up to your TV monitor. But yeah, you can power it by USB.

@iandizion713: So you can't have the games running on your computer monitor? Like having the image on your computer

I was wondering the same thing. We have a flat screen computer monitor that is not currently in use, and I was thinking of trying to hook up the NES Mini to that. We currently have the console sitting on a box in front of the TV with a chair and bean bag. Also, we have a Wii Classic Controller plugged into the 2nd controller port for 2p gaming.

@Collie_Lover: It should be really easy to hook up since PC monitors usually have HDMI adapters. If your PC monitor doesnt have HDMI that is. I play my Wii U on my PC monitor.

You can not use the HDMI port on a laptop as that's to connect a laptop to a tv screen its not an HDMI in port its. HDMI out

As for a desktop I'm unsure

@jayk: Sorry for reviving the old thread, but I thought I should say this. You aren't *using the computer* to play the NES. It's not even touching the computer.

What you meant to ask, and what no one who replied seemed to understand, is;

"Can I plug this NES thing into my Monitor using the HDMI port?"

The answer is YES. Of course you can! As long as the NES has an HDMI-Out and your monitor has an HDMI-In it will work exactly like a television. But just because it's plugged into your monitor, don't expect your mouse and keyboard to be detected by the console. Thinking that would just be silly...

Well Thanks Vanpotheosis. Thank you for that information.

I have a similar question but my monitor isnt avle to output audio. I've connected it to a friend's Switch multiple times and it works but we also need to plug it to a speaker via aux. What would i need to output audio as well or at least connect it to a speaker?
