It would be nice for peeps that only have a Wii. The problem is that Nintendo knew while they were designing the Wii that it would not be able to do much more than the Gamecube. They knew that the choice to use less powerful hardware would lead to being left out of many multiplatform 3rd party franchises. Hopefully their next console will be powerful enough to get ports of games like COD4, Unreal3, Final Fantasy XIII, Soulcalibur 4, the list could go on forever.
Nintendo has proven over and over again that they are more about 1st party everything. I would imagine that the reason for this is that all the profit goes straight to them. Royalties from 3rd party games bring in a fair amount of money as well, but not as much as Nintendo seems to want. In Nintendo's defense they seem to have played things safe by going cheaper on the hardware side after losing money on the N64 and Gamecube. One more loss for them on a home console may have and could still take them out of the home console market.
They are making mad cash on the Wii, so they should be able to build something with some power for the next gen unless they are all about casual gaming now. Sadly, that is likely to be their direction going forward.

You believe SF4 requires super hardware?
Maybe more than what the Wii has. But they could make a wiiker Wii version.
Capcom just wants to move forward with their titles i guess..

Dude, it's a fighting game which does not even rely on real time physics. All it has the Wii can't do is HD, and since it's a toon looking game, wouldn't be a big loss. Sorry, but SF4 is not the kind of game that showcases hardware, the producers said it could even be on iPhone.

What does SF4 have, besides looks, requiring powerful hardware?

Content, and that's about it. What, do you think I'll feel bad admitting it or that it proves SF4 is too much for the Wii?
haha fighting games dont need physic engines?so you think the havok logo is on Soul Calibur IV and on Brawl just because it looks good?the game has awesome visuals and improves the franchise although it still feels old school...played it on the Games Convention Leipzig...ShadowScampi
*facepalm*
It does not rely (hint: key word) in physics engine. As in no mind blowing unpredictable reactions, destructible stages, and so on, the kind of thing that could make it unfeasible on Wii. It's the very SF gameplay we've known for years.

actually yes. Fighting games dont need Physics engines at all especially since among the hardcore fighting community 2-D fighters are still respected and very often preferred

Wii owners need to stop begging for PS3 and 360 games. Do you know what we get when we do? We get crap like Dead Rising Wii. I have no doubt in my mind that Street Fighter IV could work on Wii, but I'm sick of people letting Capcom get away with all of these ports. They're just being lazy. Okami, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 0, Dead Rising... All of them are great games, but I've already played them. I want original games like Zack and Wiki and Umbrella Chronicles.famicommander
Thank you! At least someone gets it.

I am sure Capcom doesn't see Dead Rising as a favour to us. With a subtitle like Chop till you Drop, it's sure they won't try to sell it to those who were asking for PS3/360 games.

The 360 version is outstanding. The Wii version has almost no zombies on screen, worse graphics, lower sound quality, and a crippled mission structure to make it easier for less skilled gamers.[QUOTE="1337_lost_souls"][QUOTE="famicommander"]Wii owners need to stop begging for PS3 and 360 games. The Wii has plenty that the other two systems simply cannot offer. Check the stickied threads on the top of this page. If those games don't appeal to you, it may be time to consider another system.Capcom said that they were planning on producing games that are currently on the 360 and PS3 for the Wii. They just wanted to see how these games would fare on their original target systems before. I think one of the games they are talking about is Street Fighter.
I basically don't see other PS3/360 multiplatforms coming to the Wii, however, I have a feeling that something rather unexpected could happen with both Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5. Capcom keeps refusing to deny 100% the possibility of Wii ports for both games. Chances are we won't see either game being released on the same date as its PS3/360 counterpart, but it could happen a few months later.
I'm not too sure about this, but Capcom keeps giving us hints that it could happen, or at least that they are really digging the whole idea.

Hey thats my line... *points to my avatar* lol... and I also believe it sadly, but if the gamecube could handle SoulCaliber 2 it should be able to handle a slightly tweaked version of SF4 and I am hyping this game, i'll be getting the PS3 version.
