Hey folks, I'm looking to pick up a 3DS tomorrow and I can't seem to decide whether I should pick up Ocarina of Time 3D or Resident Evil: Revelations. I'm a huge fan of both series so I'll end up picking up both eventually, I picked Ocarina on the N64 at launch so I've already played it several times, but I never experienced the Master Quest. While Revelations looks like a fantastic game, it's length is making me unsure of picking it up. Raid Mode does sound like it makes up for it though. If you could only pick one which would it be?

I'd go with Ocarina of Time, there's a ton of content with the normal game, master quest and boss challenge mode. It'll keep you busy for a while. Resident Evil Revelations will still be around for a while and by then it'll probably be reduced in price too.

The same can be said vice versa, that Ocarina will be around for awhile and at a reduced price in the future.

Revelations isn't very good. Master Quest on 3DS is the best version of Master Quest. All the enemies deal double damage and the world is mirrored, in addition to all the changes to N64DD/GC Master Quest. It's really the ultimate version of Ocarina.

You should pick up Revelations if you've already played OoT. Both games are great though. The story in RE:R is kind of short, but Raid mode is the best part of the game. I've put nearly 60 hours into RE, so I wouldn't worry about the length. You can't go wrong with either game though ;)

Resident Evil: Revelations. Even though Ocarina is good, Revelations has Raid Mode which has about fifty hours in it. At least :D

I'd go for Revelations since you've already played Ocarina before. It's a fantastic game from start to finish.

For the sake of playing something new and getting enjoyment out of it get Resident Evil.

And as everyone has said...raid mode is awesome

Nope

OOT is a first party game that will retain it's value longer

Resident Evil is third party that will drop in price just like all third party games do

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I ended up just picking both up since I couldn't make up my mind to save my life. By sheer luck though, Best Buy in Canada is offering a free copy of Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, or Mario Tennis Open with a purchase of a 3DS from now until next Thursday.

Really? I could have sworn that all games will eventually get reduced prices if they are in the market long enough. Maybe first party just takes longer than third.

Not Nintendo games, especially anything from their major franchises. Unless there's a player's choice or something similar, games like Zelda or Mario would stay full price until they completely sell out.

I see. I stand corrected. Thanks for the info. I would've never known.
