I doubt they'll do the retro games again now that the VC exists. For sure they're not really making much use of it at the minute, but why give away old games for free when you can instead charge people for it? Anyways, i'm hoping this game is quite a different experience from Wild World. I have no intentions of buying this game if its going to turn out to be a slight improvement. I need some new features! More activities. More places of interest. More multiplayer options. More items, etc... More residents. Things i'd like to see implemented...

* A vegatable patch next to your house that allows you to grow, trade and sell vegetables, much like fruit.
* Numerous types of materials (wood, metal, etc...) that can be found washed up on the beach, dug up out of the ground or shaken from trees and taken to a special character who could then build special items or pieces of furniture. Perhaps the character in question could like in a cave next to a waterfall or something.
* Being hired by Tom Nook to build new houses for incoming residents.
* Interactive furniture like Pool Tables, Table Tennis, Computers, etc...
* Minigames inside the cafe/Roost, including a pool table and an arcade machine.
* Upgraded housing for animals who remain in your town for a long time.
* Outdoor activities that vary from season to season. Maybe a mini football/soccer pitch or a vollyball court at the beach. Perhaps even a homemade ice rink to cover a frozen lake in winter.

Yah building your own house sounds kind of fun. And I want some real holidays, haha.

I just want 5 new things in the game and I'll be happy.

1. Voice Chat

2. Better AI

3. Improved Wi-fi Interface

4. DLC

5. Added activities, while keeping the game simple.

I can't wait, either. I missed Animal Crossing WW (no DS at the time), and I loved the original game for the GC.

I'm looking forward to it as it's a game that's ideal for handhelds, and I sold my DS version when I got the Wii game. Rarely play the Wii game now, as AC is the ideal sort of game for when you're half-playing, half-watching TV etc, and loading up the Wii and specifically concentrating purely on AC only lasted me so long (while with the DS I'd often just play for a bit at any point I felt like playing a game while watching TV.

The improvements suggessted in the second post are great ideas, I was hoping for stuff like making items more interactive (you can buy an arcade machine, pinball machine etc but can't play them? Or a TV you can't watch? Wasted opportunities imo) and a better range of stuff to do, without having anything specifically in mind for the latter. Definitely need more stuff to do though, as on both the DS and Wii versions I collected all the (same) fossils, collected a decent number of fish, a few bugs and wasn't into growing flowers or whatever and it definitely felt samey on the Wii. Getting rid of the City would be cool as well.

Not that i'm aware of, but i'm sure an announcement will be made soon. Even if there were no such thing in place for the 3DS, I don't see them giving away such games for free, unfortunately.

Well if it was in the game, then we would have technically paid for it right?
They did do the same thing in the GC version.

Thats true, but that was before the VC came into existence. I suppose at the time Nintendo thought "We might as well throw them in there as we can no longer make any money from them". Now its a different story.

Perhaps a new idea could be some sort of haldheld game system in the game, with collectible minigame of sorts.
I also hope they bring back holidays.

Ah, another idea. Have longer days in the summer and shorter days in winter, or however it works elsewhere in the world. It's weird playing Animal Crossing at 7 in the afternoon, whilst its still sunny outside, but almost completely black in the game.

Can you elaborate on 3? I really like the way it is now, I don't wanna have to do set things for wifi.

Well for starters, when someone disconnects it shouldn't destroy the whole wifi session. It should just say "Bob has left". Also, with the new tag mode, maybe we can see when all our buddies are online or not. And our gates should be set up differently. I think if someone wants to come in it should say "Bob wants to come in. Let him in?" and we can say yes or no. Oh yeah and they need to allow more than 3 people to visit at once.

I often thought about more then 3 people, but think, it would be total chaos trying to talk. Other then that I like all your other ideas.

The only thing I don't like about the game is how the characters are taller. Other than that, the game looks pretty interesting.

One thing that i would like to see is maybe a go to the city thing like on the wii, or just something else other than just the towns :) but other than that i cannot think of anything else from the origional that should change :)

I actually like the new design models. I think the reason people dont like them is because they are so used to the short little fatties from previous games.

I can't wait. Played it on my old DS Phat for ages. Sold it when I sold my old DS, but then I bought a new Lite, but haven't picked up Wild World yet. Maybe I will, but I'll likely just wait for this new one.

I am a big fan of the animal crossing games, and like everyone else I would love to see interactive furiture. one thing that I always thought would be interesting would be if you could somehow get a job, like for nook, the able sisters or town hall, as an alternate way of getting money and as something else to do, but since you now can become mayor I dont see that happening.

I'd like it to be more like the original Animal Crossing on Gamecube with levels, but with the round rotation like Wild World. It should also have more events, more to do during the night time hours, and better convos with the animal neighbors.

it was already on e3, though information about the game is scarce.
