Looks interesting, but I know nothing about the game.

You can also download the original through the eStore. It is more expensive than free but totally worth it one way or the other. Old school graphics, great story, tight gameplay and just overall a great platformer. It sounds like the 3D version is just the same game kind of overhauled into a 3D side scroller. I was disapointed to find that out as the initial stuff I saw on it made me think (or hope) it was going to be an all new try 3D platformer. Oh well.
You can play through the game in the 8-bit style on the cartridge version, apparently. But if that was going to be your only playthrough you might as well get it from the eShop.Raiko101No it seems the classic mode just replaces the character sprite. The background are still in 3D at least from that trailer.
