Well... many people have been complaining about how ACCF is pretty much the same as it's predecessors.

So if there is such a bad thing about being the same, what would you improve?

How would you make ACCF a better game?

Just as they say, don't fix something that ain't broken.

It's obvious that since people liked the first two that they should keep on giving the thing that people want.

1. I would add more species of animals

2. I would make it so you cant get the same type of animal in your town (an example would be you can only get one cat, bog, etc in your town)

3. I would change the chore system back to how it was in the GC version

4. You can have 12 villagers (the GC version you had 15, the DS version you had 8, the Wii version you had 10)

5. Add more holidays like Valentine's Day and The Forth of July

6. Add more special events

7. Make it so that it exactly copys the wheater

Those things would be good!

One thing I hate about City Folk that someone in another thread brought up is the fact that those special random visits from "super" characters are gone. Now we just go to the boring little city and get what we want when we want it. And Shampoodle being in the city is a real downer, now I can't get a haircut while online like in the DS version, unless I'm mistaken and you can go to the city while on wifi. The single room houses also blow. :(

No, you don't want to have the weather match the weather of where you live. Why? Well, if you live where I live, you have extended hot and extended cold with little to nothing in between. The season system is fine and I do enjoy how the weather does change during the day and it is different in each town.

Here's my list of changes I would add:

  • A major increase in the furniture types and styles would be very nice
  • An even bigger size to the house, including basements, attics, porches, etc.
  • Possibly even a way to design how your house is built. Not necessarily to the level that The Sims does it.
  • A greater variety of plants, like bushes.
  • More neighbors in a town and have them do more things like getting better homes/items.
  • Have a bigger town with more buildings (you can still have the city, but it's perfect for having more things in the town itself) and have them all have the ability to change (like Nook's)
  • Bring back he fountain from Animal Crossing. I liked the way it looked.

Here's a small list that could have gone on forever if I didn't stop. Now, don't get me wrong, I love the Animal Crossing games, but there is so much untapped potential for the games.

any chance that some of these smaller changes will be made through Downloadable Content?

I don't think you'll see anything change radically, but the concept of bushes for the outside of the house, or more new furniture seems possible.

Well, that is true. But I'm sure that there are ideas floating around out there.

If everyone had that attitude, we'd be trying to drive cars with stone wheels, taking hefty dumps in outhouses, and sending each other this text by carrier pigeon.

Well I will add a lot of things, I think that Nintendo make this game very quickly and they don't add a lot of new thing well the only new character is the fox in the town but he doesn't make too much in the game, I was hopping that the change was going to be like the Game cube version to the DS version, because they add A LOT of new things but this version is like the DS version just that in a TV. I will buy it because i dont play the DS version but if I will have the DS version I will not buy this game.

I havent played it yet. But

I would say: Bigger village (more villagers, and more things to do)

also a bigger house, with a kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom.

umm thats all i can think of

Isn't this game available for updates? I heard. They could keep us gamers at it and boost the replay value.

Some improvements could have been made to City Folk:

- Add more stuff to the city.  There's only a handful of businesses there and some of them aren't even worth visiting.

- More furniture.  Ok, CF already has this, but I still keep getting ruby econo-chairs left and right.  Give me enough new furniture to make me notice that it's there right away.  Beat me over the head with it.  (Same with fish and bugs and clothes.)

- More dialogue!  I LOVE the writing in CF; probably the best in any AC game.  But I've had the game not even a week and one character has already asked my opinion on stretchy sweat pants SIX TIMES.

- Later business hours.  Not a lot to do after 10 p.m. when you can't sell your fish and fruit to Nook.  Tom should extend his business hours to 24 a day.

- Furniture editor.  It doesn't need to be complex, but let me build my own chairs and tables.  Let me put my patterns on things.  Let me upload these creations and sell them for bells.

But all that aside, I'm fine with City Folk the way it is.  It was never intended to bring the franchise in a new direction.  It was just Nintendo covering their bases and making sure there's an Animal Crossing game on both of their current platforms.

Well, what do you mean by random visits from "super" characters? Wendell is around, so is Saharah, if that;s what you mean. And, I agree, the city is too small and boring. Also, I don't think you use Wi-Fi while in the city, only for the auction house if I'm not mistaken.

Have you played City Folk? Have you Played any of the games before it. City Folk can hardly be called more than a port, they could have done alot of diffrent things. They could have included alot more new stuff to buy, they could have included some sort of new gameplay element (like the ds did with the slingshot, and all the design options), the list goes on.

Fine. Newman will be taking delicate dumps and everyone else will be taking the hefty variety.

If not Nook being open 24 hours, have another store that is open during the night hours that just operates differently.

But yeah, there need to be more nightly institutions for those of us who only have the later hours of the day to dedicate to the game.

Katrina, Shrunk, Gracie, Lyle, and others I may have missed are just there now. With Wild World I played everyday until I saw Dr. Shrunk and continued playing until I got all the expressions I wanted. We don't have to keep checking in City Folk which won't make me come back to it as often.

Why can't they just be normal? Why do we have to be lumped into one or the other?

How would you make ACCF a better game?

sman3579

1. I would add more species of animals

dont they do that already? just asking

2. I would make it so you cant get the same type of animal in your town (an example would be you can only get one cat, bog, etc in your town)

in what exactly would that be an improvement? what if i wanna make a cat-town?

3. I would change the chore system back to how it was in the GC version

the only i ever played, so i cant comment on this

4. You can have 12 villagers (the GC version you had 15, the DS version you had 8, the Wii version you had 10)

how did you get to the number 12 EXACTLY? why not more?

5. Add more holidays like Valentine's Day and The Forth of July

yea, 'cause non americans have to celebrate the american valentines day (in case you dont know, it changes from country to country) and the american independence...

6. Add more special events

finally something interesting.

7. Make it so that it exactly copys the wheater

repeat previous comment, although im not sure how weather affects the game (like, plants can die if they get too much/not enough rain water. that would be a real problem)

Those things would be good!

Ok, well.

1. I dont think they added any more species of animals

2. They could give you the option to have the same type of animal again

3. The chore system was way better then.

4. I came out with 12 because I felt 15 was to many and 10 wasnt enough. The two numbers between them are 12 and 13 so I flipped a coin.

5. They made Thanksgiving an American exclusive and not everyone celebrates Christmas and it still made it.

6. Good to see you agree FINALLY.

7. I think they should probably give you the option to pick that.

YOUR TURN!
