Since the day i got my 3ds i always kept it in the cradle and always had it unplugged from the wall whenere it was full. Does it hurt the battery much if you never unplug it from the wall and always put your 3ds in the cradle even if the battery is far form low? Or is it like any other battery and has a certain amount of cicles that the battery can go through? Do you guys unplug it whenever it's full?

I checked the manual and it appears that the battery pack that comes with the 3DS can be charged around 500 times before it drops to about 70% of initial battery life. It sure takes a while to charge when it has a low battery (about 2.5-3hours total).

I keep my 3ds on the charger all day, the only time I take it off is when i'm going to use it.

I'm sure it doesn't hurt it..

No what i was asking is if you keep it on the charger all day and then take it off to play and don't drain the battery to the lowest possible and then put it back in the cradle which will use up a cycle. But Lunarblade1 already cleared it up for me:)

Life is too short to be anal about battery recharging. If there is any effect it'll be minor - the 3DS should have a chip in there to automatically shut off current to the battery when it's charged. And when it does die or show reduced capacity, it's probably quite easy to replace. Having said that, I generally put mine back on the cradle when it's around the halfway mark because that's where it's at after I've played for an hour or two. I have heard people say it's good to let it run almost completely out once in a while, but I can't get a straight answer from anyone as to why. So I don't worry about it.

Replacement stock sized batteries are like $10 on Amazon already. Its seriously not worth sweating, changing the battery takes all of 2 minutes if you actually use the right sized screwdriver. Plus its better to keep lithium batteries topped up anyways. Deep cycles age them faster.
