Well its been pretty much confirmed, at least for Japan, but I fully expect that to change to 'and NA' soon enough. Any one else super excited, even if it is just a port? :D
And what new aspects would you like implemented?

Well since I don't own a SNES, or an original version of this game, I'm more than happy to get it, even if it is a straight port. I doubt it will be though, since I'm sure SE will add some kind of new stuff, even if it's only minor.dr_wadsy
There are some enhanced features like a slight graphical update and a new dungeon. Thats all I remember seeing that was new, but I could be wrong.
Hmm, I really don't know what to make of it... I'm a big fan of the original and while the original graphics and music still hold up to today's standards, I almost wish they would have done a little more with it... Wait, what am I saying? I LOVE 2D sprites...
It just seems like this should have been a WiiWare game but I guess they figured why make only $10 when you can make $40? But I'm not complaining, since I only have a DS and not a Wii!
The thing is, these handheld ports of Square RPGs like the FF ones that appeared on GBA... I can't say that I got too into their bonus dungeons. They felt pretty tacked-on and largely out of balance with the rest of the game...
However, Chrono Trigger had an area called the Crying Mountain (it even had its own music!) somewhere in 65,000,000 BC, but it didn't make it into the final version of the game, so if they include that level as the bonus dungeon, then maybe I'll be happy! :)
EDIT: Make that "Singing Mountain"... Crying Mountain was the remix and Singing Mountain was the title of the original song: http://youtube.com/watch?v=94F6pNTS7Nw
Not excited, if it was a sequel, then yes....Junior_AIN
(This... did... have a sequel: Chrono Cross.)
I've got the game for the PS1- it was part of Final Fantasy Chronicles. I wouldn't mind a handheld version, though. Being able to take your favorite games around with you is always fun.
I still own it for SNES. I want nothing to do with any ports.famicommander
Generally I agree with you when we're talking about ports of mediocre games that are priced more than their counterparts were back in the day and have been released 8 times over. Chrono Trigger however is a real classic that ALOT of kids have not gotten the chance to play. Many of the posters on Gamespot started their gaming career with an N64 or PS1 unlike us oldies who where clunking around on their Ataris or earlier.
Chrono Trigger PS1 Opening
PS1 got a port of Chrono Trigger with fully animated cutscene, which some liked, and purists hated. Even still, many gamers are missing out. I only toyed with the game briefly on my computer, but never got into it much. It will probably get priced around $35, which is a ripoff in which case I will grab it for the PS1 off Amazon for around $10 and enjoy it on my next-gen console.
You may note it looks alot like DragonBall, well the artist was the same for both. Look up Dragon Quest for more examples.
